Default Do U guys use 18" CL wheels on your 997.2 GT3RS?

Guys, my mech is telling me that my rear rubbers are due & the clock's just 10600km & they're USD1K each in my area so I'm getting from tirerack as usual.

I drive this car almost daily & am thinking of getting 18" CL wheels & hopefully can find some street tyres for it as my area rains a lot. Do you guys know of any 18" aftermarket wheels with matching street tyres? My car has PCCB & I don't see much space left between the caliper & 19" but a wheel supplier tells me that his 18" clears.

What are your recommendations? Thanks!

There's plenty of guys on here that use 18's - TRAKAR, Izzone, jenk12m to name a few. But, it's mostly because they track the cars a lot and the tire choice is greater. For a car used predominantly on the street, the economics generally don't work. A new set of wheels is >$4000.

Makers include Forgeline, BBS, and GMG (I am sure that there are others).

+1 with ATL Fahrer...for the track if you are going to run slicks or semi slicks like Hoosier R6 or BF Goodricj R1 then 18" wheels provides a little cheaper priced tire and a few more selections with slicks...again Hoosier, BF Goodrich, Yokohama, Kumho.

For street tire and even R-Coumpound street tires 19" privides a better selection these days. You can also get Hoosier slicks in 19" but you can also get Toyo R888, Michelin Sport Cups, Pirelli Corsa and Trofeo and more R-Comp street/track tires are coming out it seems.

So 18" or 19" depends on how you are going to use your car and what tires you are going after....drive to the track on R-compund street tires get 19"...more choices...OR....trailer your car and run slicks get 18" for more slick tire choices.

i run 18" forgelines centerlock on my .2 GT3RS with 255/335 width PS2's for rain tires. Once the super sports are released next spring, i'll switch back to 19's unless they come out with wider sizes in 18 as well.

I use the 18" Forgelines as well with Khumo V710 rubber. Great set-up. Have 23sessions on the current set and they look like they've got a good number of sessions left...

Or you can drive the to track on 19" street tires and tow a trailer full of 18" slicks

Thanks for the heads up guys. It's the weather here, monsoon season in my area & I don't want to lose it. So, I'll most likely go for forgeline from Jeff & he's doing some special prices for us!
