Default GT3 RS 4.0 and clear protection film

My car is on the way. Any owners put the clear film on the car? How do you work around the decals on the hood?

you would probably have to remove it and reapply it after the clear bra, otherwise you'll end up with air pockets round the decals.

congrats on the 4.0!

Nope, if the installer does it right, no bubbles at all. Clear-bra over decals - actually gives the decals a 3D like effect. In addition, don't have to worry about the decal edges when you wash, buff or wax the car. I have the clear-bra right over the decals on my RS 3.8, no bubbles or air pockets.

Yep!! Same thing on my RS 3.8, the clear bra protects the decals. My 4.0 is hopefully in port at this point...hoping it gets here next week. I'll be doing the clear bra on it for sure.

+1, I have a bra over my decals and they look find and no air pockets. Only drawback is that the clear bra may pull the decal off when removed but that's minor and can be replaced.

You will probably get your 4.0 before I do. Please post pictures of the clear bra when installed? What color did you get?

Check out XPEL ultimate film and find a good installer. I think it looks better without decals, but if you are doing the entire car and like decals, re apply them after the clear bra install.

Xpel will chime in and give you the 411. I don't see the decals as a problem. Was looking at a RS 4.0 yesterday at the Rennsport Reunion and the decals are very thin. I don't see it as a problem.

Mine? Middle of the grass pad?

As I recall the installer went on top of some decals and cut around others.

See you guys today

I think on a white car you will be hard pressed to see the film over the decal. On darker colors on very close inspection you can see a hint of an outline due to the difference in height between the decal and the paint. I'm extremely **** about this type of thing and the this outline doesn't bother me at all. I will try to take a picture of my door sill which has a spyder decal on it.

I had the guys from Speedfilm here locally that did my car at Hennessy do the front clip........ the Nano film they use lays down so flat you cant even tell, and, it went around the decals without an issue at all. (Especially the GT3RS on the right fender top area).
