Last session of the day with a Porsche NA hot-shoe coaching me. He had me carrying speed into T10 that I'd never done before, so naturally that presents its own issue. Fortunately, a photographer was there to catch the ensuing fun. The massive drift carried past him to track-out, but he was able to take about 8 pics before I passed him.
Nice drift. Who was in the right seat? Which track?
John Lewis. He and Cass Whitehead were around all weekend for coaching. We were at Putnam Park, great place to practice car control, except T10. The driver clearly has some work to do.
Can't tell how fast a corner it is but if you carried the drift thru without getting the waggles then I'd say you were doing pretty good.
3rd gear corner, no waggles. The drift was worthy, but it was my entry that screwed the pooch, hence the reference to me needing improvement. With all the grip this car has, I was able to carry in considerable more speed to the turn-in, and I breathed throttle too much. The car's sensitivity to my inputs, compared to my M3, seem to be exponentially greater (especially with GMG bars). Car control isn't the issue, it's re-calibrating my brain, feet, and hands to be even smoother. Late in the session with hot tires certainly didn't help matters either.
What's funny is that this car is more physically demanding to drive than a well sorted M3, and yet it also requires more finesse. It's intoxicating.
