LOL....same old story.
I'm on my 4th Track car, and developing the 5th as we speak, that I might name "The Peter Eater"
Anyway...congratulations and welcome to the addiction!

Well you don't have a problem, I do.
Sold my GT2, with the fantasy that I would buy something for the street and eventual DE's, while building a race car.
1)Drove the GTR at the track.... ok, but can't finish the session.
2) Bought a Gallardo, girls love them, scream on the street, jump in the car at the gas station bla bla bla, can't track it..... after a month of ownership, the car is for sale
3) Officially for sale, looking for a GT3.
DAMN>>>>>>>>

How is it coming along, when will it be done? Things firming up yet?
I keep missing the blue car at Orbit, but I will go look at it one of these days..

Peter-
I am getting the details sorted out, but yes, things are firming up. Give you a call beginning of next week - things have finally settled down on my end.

DE's = crack
Racing = heroin
Thankfully, both are legal.

it is crack... but it takes a lot of time and time these days is way more precious than money. when you get serious it becomes a major problem as if you want to keep in shape you need to get out to track at least twice a month and family members do not appreciate this a single bit.
but for those who are not married or does not have kids to take care of - it is a total crack. as of what car to run - who cares. i think i will go down modded e36 3.2L m3 route next season, it is cheap to build and cheap to run car and you can race it and bend fenders without much damage to your pocket like with nice streetable porsche car. blessed those who can afford to race most recent cup cars but it demands quite a budget to swallow. i still need to save enough to pay off my 2 kid`s college.

Welcome to the insanity!
I hate driving! I communte and sell in some of the worst traffic in the country for the past 15 years and had NO interest in getting behind the wheel of a car "for fun". I intentionally tried to stay out of a car as much as possible.
Then.....
2 1/2 yrs ago a customer convinces me to come to a 1 day track event. Totally hooked after the 1st 20 minute session.
About a 100 track days since then....
Bought an '07 Cayman S, '09 Cayman S and now '08 GT2 and can't keep looking at CUPS
The expense side of things is just nuts but the bigger problem for me is the constant thoughts about the track. Day and night.......somebody help me!!!

I feel your pain (joy)
How do you like your GT2 as far as track use goes. Any code brown moments when turbo kick in mid corner?

No regrets! It's an absolute blast to drive and has helped me improve my driving.
Mike Levitas, TPC , has been helping me setup the car. We've changed the spring rate, re-ramped & pack the diff and modified the turbos. He modify the tune so the boost is very manageable for the track. He also sets the chassis pretty tight, which can be frustrating in low speed corners, but it puts down power incredibly well. Cheater car for sure
I've been following your CUP progress.....damn you! Stop talking about it, please!
