Nah just fill to 100 psi (+/-) and it should seperate fairly quickily. Oh and you might want to stand off to the side...

I change them with the tires on, why remount and rebalance?

given the recent post about the whole nuts not being tightened by somebody and how important it is to check everything, isn't it a bit risky to "backyard" garage the repair of wheels that are clearly being used for the track? isn't risky period whatever the usage?
