Default Brake disc thickness

Hi

Just wondering. How many mm of wear can one get maximum out of a front brake disc before it should be replaced according to Porsche spec?

A good visual sign is when the cracks go all the way to the inner or outer edge of the disk. For a 32 mm disk, usually the minimum thickness is 1.0 mm from the starting thickness. *Example: 0.5 mm minimum thickness on left and right rotor cheek*. Has to be checked with a digital caliper. Good place to check on a rotor is the middle to outer edge.

That's what I usually check, the cracks. If they are too big I replace the disc.

But without cracks in the discs, only 1mm of wear is not much imo

Most people replace because of cracks before wear. However, if you look at the oem disc there are a few holes (actually dimples) on the edge which are not drilled thru all the way.. They are wear indicators. When the dimple disappears, the rotor is worn out.
