PBOC Daytona Oct 21 - 23

Ship the car down and get reay for some nice Florida weather. You must feel like a popsicle by now.
Daytona is fun, a roller coaster ride, I still hav vertigo. Have you driven it? It's crazy fast, I had a 2 x 2 inch bubble on my inside wall of the right rear tire and I only noticed it when I took the wheel of because they were corded. I've done healthier things then Daytona.
I ran max wing, speedo said 180MPH back straight and 170MPH into bus stop.
I found some time today; 2.024 (FLATOUT video following naturally) and I think I might have gotton into 2.01 tommorow morning in the cool air, but my pressure plate went today.
John was fast too! 2.029 as well, but he has cheater hoosiers, headers, etc, so I was clearly the better driver. ;-).
The pressure plate is a known problem at Porsche; Now they only sell 4.0 pressure plates, so I assume warranty. No money shift here, not even anything over type 1 overrevs (Rev limiter).
Anyway Game Over for me this weekend.

I'm ready for some Florida weather, I'm not a Popsicle yet. It was 60 degrees today in sunny Minneapolis. .
I've seen you change tires before and I'm sure you've done healthier things. Lol
That's crazy speeds to get at on the track in any car. I've never done Daytona but it looks like a thrill ride all the way around. Glad to see you caught the bubble in the rear before it was too late.
I uprgraded the pressure plate on my old 3 to a gt2 pressure plate. Sounds like I will eventually need to do the same on the RS.
Seems like yours went after 2yrs and how many track events.......??????

I have 45 gentle, smooth track days LOL.
Here are the best laps, not great by any means, leaving lot's of time under breaking, but I prefer being alive. I'll take a small repair over hitting a wall anytime
Here's the FLATOUT:

Peter - your tachometer in the car is based on 19" wheels. You run 18" wheels so your GPS is more accurate, therefore, 170 mph on the front straight and 160 mph at the bus stop. Those are still really high speeds.
Don't sell John short he doesn't have the cheater LSD.

Juan, yes sure a little less, see flatout video above, but those are the numbers you see in front of your eyes while you wonder when your tire is going to blow :-)
I am certainly not selling John short, I was kidding. We have been doing this a lot longer then John and he is seriously fast. He's out there now and it would not surprise me if he got a 2:00 or 2:01.
His 2:02 from yesterday he LIFTED because a Corvette blocked him before the start/finish line!!

Had a great time at Daytona with all of you...Out of the bus stop I'm flat to the floor and in between NASCAR 3 & 4 Peter just drives by me like nothing. You guys in your street Porsches are as fast or faster than most of the 996 and 997 Cup cars that were running!
