PS I tend to turn the mobile off at that sort of speed

When doing 300 for 50 minutes, better leave it on..

I think it would be best to let your tuner talk to there motorsport department directly regarding compression/specs of the custom made pistons..

Theological thought of the day - does God do Twitter?

Actually, I have noted hand-off problems at those speeds as you pass from cell to cell. i think its more a problem of the way the cells are configured to minimise the number required to give coverage in remote areas.

(No I don't need it - I don't do twitter, although some guys driving in the VLN do use SMS to communicate with their pits (pre-prepared messages)

I fear you are right, not worrying about heat is the giveaway. I suspect that he may have problems with almost all German tuners.

BTW, Marco has had some nice races this year, perhaps you could do some enduros together over the winter

my tuner was trying to destroy the engine on the maha dyno for all day, he did like 50 dyno runs and burned a lot of fuel, there was no problem with any temp.
imagine 30 sec dyno run one after another and another and intake was only 50C

sure for race track I should reduce the boost to 1 bar and all should be fine, of course my gearbox is without cooling so this might be a problem

hmmm, 50 dyno runs, if you are going to do that sort of stuff, better to put the engine on a proper brake.

Look some temperatures were going to several hundred degrees, that's why the hot side of the turbos and down pipes glow in the dark. When this happens, the air that goes through the cold side is not as cold as it is when the turbos are cool and the intercoolers are not heat soaked. The effect of this heating of the air means we cannot get as much into the cylinders as we can when it is cold, less air, less power. If you put the car on a chassis dyno and run it 50 times, thats like 50 minutes (absolute max) out of 8 hours, over 85% of the time the engine and turbos are cooling down.

here is sample of dyno run:

and this is acceleration sample:

this engine is 20k kilometers old now, I drove 365km/h.
From Koln to Warsaw I burned 7 fuel tanks one way so was driving quite fast, I logged and recorded all the datas.
