I got Intercity Lines to give me a quote on shipping the car down. So just trying to figure that out, and then getting the car from Orbit to the track(s).
orbit does track support and will transport your car

You don't need to be Super Solo to run. You should do a few PBOC solo events and then talk to them about Super Solo.

So it sounds like Super Solo is really invitation only from the existing members. With full open passing you need to trust who you are running with. Don't you also need safety gear ie: suit gloves shoes etc.

Yes Peter, all safety gear and roll bar 6 point seat belts and fire extinguisher, but they will give you a pass to try it out.

You also need to know the secret handshake.

Totally joking about super solo. I dont need to be there until I get very consistent. I'd rather see 2:28's all day then a 2:26 followed by 2:30's....

Or a 2:26 followed by a Game Over...

Subject: Advanced Solo, Registration

Registration Notice
2012 48 Hours of Sebring
Advanced Solo, DE Event

Registration will take place beginning November 1, 2011, at 1pm Eastern Standard Time. The dates of the Advance Solo DE event are: Thursday February 2, 2012 thru Sunday February 5, 2012.

The event will be run with expanded passing, with the exception of the optional Thursday night sessions (prior Sebring experience required) which will revert to passing in the 5 passing zones. It is mandatory that you attend the Thursday drivers meeting, which is generally held in the early afternoon. We will go over the entire event as well as expanded passing at that meeting. Should the meeting be impossible for you to attend, please contact me.

New for 2012 we will allow coaching by qualified instructors. These coaches must be registered for the 48 Hours event as a driver or registered as a coach. The coach must be a PCA member and a certified PCA instructor. There is a fee and registration required if the coach is not registered as a driver. The intent of this new program is to give new drivers to this track help in quickly learning the line and fine-tuning skills of more experience drivers. This event is for well-experienced drivers who have attended PCA Drivers Education programs. Coaching is a privilege that can be revoked on an individual basis at any time by the CTI. Do not register thinking that you will be trained the skills you need to drive at the 48 Hours.

To register and qualify for the Advanced Solo group you must:

1 Be a current PCA Member; bring your membership card to the event.
2 Be driving a Porsche.
3 Be a PCA certified instructor or have an email sent to me by your Chief Track Instructor stating that you are an advanced solo driver and have the experience and skills necessary to drive on the Sebring track with very highly skilled drivers. (CTI email not applicable if you have been accepted at this event previously)

Should this event fill up and we start a waiting list, you must fully register and pay to remain on the list. There are always cancellations. For the last two years, we were able to accept everyone who had fully registered and paid to attend the 48 Hours.

To register on November 1st go to www.clubregistration.net if you have never registered on that site you may go on early and set up an account.

Reminder about registration tomorrow.

I called Chateau. They don't have any rate info for this weekend (they couldn't even sell me a room at the regular rate because there is no rate yet, strange). So I am at La Quinta (#1 on Trip Advisor) for now.

La Quinta is a good option, I stayed there this February and was a brand new hotel, super nice and a quick trip to the track. Not quite as convenient as Chateau but a nice bargain.

Cool, thanks for the review. We'll see what kind of rate the Chateau gives for the event. But La Quinta was a pretty good price I thought.

I'm going to stay elsewhere...Chateau wants 3 nights minimum at $165 for old crappy section of the hotel.
