We keep seeing allocations pop up and such but I haven't heard any body give a date when they are supposed to receive theirs.
So who here on Rennlist is going to be the first to get theirs so we can all be jealous of them?
My vote is Mooty will be buy the one Carlson that one of their customers passes on. ;-)

as far as mkting goes. i hate LE in anything. it creates artificial demand. i never buy AP ROO when they release special editions b/c they have way too many, just like GT3, M3 whatever. there will be another one. plain jane un-numbered good stuff is what i like.
if one must control the number of widgets, increase the price to match the number of units to be sold. dont come up with an arbitrary number of 600, 500 or whatever. sell the RS at $400k each, that will control units sold. but then i am known to be insane.

For me, part of the appeal of the car is the limited availability. Or at least the justification for buying it at all is the knowledge that it's now or never. Give or take. But if they offered a $135 3.8 RS with a $20K "power kit" to put the 4.0 in it, that's what I'd be buying and pocketing the $30K in exclusivity ... just to then squander it on brakes, wheels and tires ...

IMHO there will be 4.0's available at invoice...be patient. The car is overpriced like the GT2RS(currently 9 available on cars.com)
I bought an immaculate 2011 GT3RS this week for 123k(MSRP was 170k). The laws of depreciation never change(spoken from a man who took a 100k hit on a Scuderia).

sorry to rub it in. but you know what i mean.
that said, RS4.0 if never driven and parked for 20 years, it will go up in price. but i do 20k miles a year driving to and from no where.
i predict savvy will have a 6 car rig soon. triple decker.

Although I wouldn't do it again I don't regret buying the scud and the 5k glorious miles(multiple track days).
I paid over sticker for the scud but that was 2008...its a different world right now. Also, paid over sticker for my 1st .1RS. I am learning patience and I was rewarded this week. I bought an RS this week for 47k back of window plus full clearbra(4K), RSS X-pipe(2k), and evoms/sit ecu upgrade.

I think given we're the lab test rats for the painted CF hood, fenders, wing, I'd get all of those plastered with 3M film -- let somebody else find out if they're prone to rock chips, especially on the track.
Have you had experience (as in many track days) with running the factory motorsport LSD plates in something like a 997 GT3?
