Helmet ****, R Rated!
I've wanted to do this for a while now, and finally did. I bought my Arai helmet this winter in pure white, I needed to get rid of my old motorcycle helmet and get some HANS for safety. Having a big head makes a plain white helmet look like a frikkin' satellite on your head
After looking at some known artists work, I had no choice but to go with Tyler at Censport Graphics. Some of the other artists designs didn't ignite a flare in me. I like symmetric designs and Tyler was definitely the person up to the task.
My idea was to integrate some design elements from the 997 mkI GT3 into the helmet (like front bumper center inlet, rear wing design, rear bumper vents). The colors I chose was Silver, Red and Gray/Black. Classic Porsche Motorsport colors and I don't like really colorful stuff. My original design was a little dull, simple, lacking punch and color. I still sent it to Tyler to show him the design I had in mind. He thought the idea was cool, but it definitely needed some work!
A couple days after my first e-mail exchange with Tyler, I was searching the web for some design ideas. I looked at some F1 helmet designs and I saw Kovalainen's helmet and instantly I thought to myself "this is it!". So I sent that to Tyler as well. He said it looked good, but my original idea was better and unique. He said he would try to combine the designs into one. Couple of days passed and I received an e-mail from Tyler with an attachment, he was asking me what I thought about the design he sent. Upon opening the image, I was shocked! I couldn't believe my eyes! The two designs fell into each other perfectly.
Since I had a couple of track events lined up and Tyler was really busy we decided to wait until summer to calm things down. Fast forwarding to this Friday, and I've got my helmet. I couldn't be more excited! I want to dress up like Stig and walk around in my helmet
I cannot say enough good things about Tyler. Everything was so smooth and no problems. The helmet looks perfect and the attention to detail is astounding! He definitely can put down your ideas from crappy MS Paint files you send him to pieces of art Thank you again Ty!
Here are some images since a picture is worth a 1,000 words:
PS: this mod is definitely worth 30 hp or 2 seconds on the track. Some may argue the added paint on the helmet may add weight to the car and slow me down but it's a bunch of lies

Here is a link to my GP6S that Tyler did. He has to be one of the premier talents in graphic design on the planet. He's also on the track regularly in cars and on bikes. A super nice guy to boot.

mine is the first helmet on this page, upper left. You get a good feel for his talent in looking at all of these...amazing stuff.
