My "RS Green" 997.2 RS is here!
The car was delivered Wed evening with 596 miles. I immediately took it up to Santa Barbara to "finish" the break in, although I did not quite adhere to Porsche's RPM guidelines as I don't believe in doing that. For the most part kept it under 7000 (but who knows what went on during the first 596 miles? - dealership said no overrevs). The wheels need to be balanced after transport, and the oil will be changed this week.
It has ceramic brakes, lift, dynamic lights, sound plus, extended carbon package (which is just around the air vents, not on center console), PCM with extended nav, and sport chrono. From what I've learned on this forum, the SC is useless and I do find, aesthetically, it breaks up the clean lines of the dash....but overall I'm happy with the options. The car mostly has what I wanted and not all the bling I can do without. It also has clear bra over hood, bumper, front fender, mirrors. Belts and door pulls are red, which is not ideal...but I don't see myself changing this out any time soon. Black would be better, or possibly yellow to match calipers.
Interestingly, it turns out this is the green/red Scottsdale car some of you may be familiar with. There is a Rennlist thread from 2010 about how ugly the car was, and if you've seen the pics you will agree. I'm not sure I have the full story, but it sounds like the Scottsdale dealership ordered it that way and then found a buyer in Utah, on condition it be painted. This buyer apparently opted for black wheels but without decals or black contrasting colors on bumper, mirror, or wing. I was initially going to have the dealership that was selling the car on consignment in Utah do the black accents...but the longer I looked at the pics I was sent, and heeding good advice on this forum, I decided to leave it as is.
There are only 3 green .2 RSs that I've been able to come up with: the unsold Suncoast car, 1198R'ss beautiful machine in Dubai (i think), and now this one. Maybe there are more but those are the only 3 I've been able to find with the internet as my resource.
Sorry for the suboptimal and resized pics. Two days before delivery I discovered my long unused camera was broken, so had to use my iphone.

Yeah, its gotta be. With so few green cars out there they are easy to track. I was not aware of this until the car was delivered. During the purchase, I did not overly interrogate the salesman I was working with about the car's history. I asked who bought it, why was it being sold, and that was about it. I assumed it was originally a Utah car, and with only 500 miles I was not overly concerned about provenance.
Before delivery I read about the green/red scottsdale car, and when I finally got my car there was a clear bra install card with the Scottsdale dealership info filled out on it. How many green Scottsdale cars could there be? I then asked the salesman and he confirmed it was originally from Scottdale (bought by a guy who lived in Utah but spent time in Scottsdale).
