Actually those are MPSC ZP (runflats).

Until Horst von Saurma does it in a final production car, it is all BS to me. Bottom line is I don't give any credit to any manufacturers (including Porsche) test driver "pre-production" test numbers.

GM's pre-production test of the 09' ZR-1 was a 7:26.4. Von Saurma got 7:38. Their C6 Z06 7:42 pre-production claims were a little better as von Saurma got a 7:49. Nissan does the same BS with the GT-R. They claimed 7:26.7 when the R35 GT-R came out. After 3 separate tests, the best von Sarma could do was 7:38. With the recently updated GT-R, Nissan has their current advertising blitz stating 7:24.22. Von Saurma just tested a production one and could only get 7:36. Certainly not bad, just not quite up to what the manufacturer claims.

Here is what I will give credit to Porsche on: out of all the manufacturers, Porsche's claims are consistently the closest to reality. They claimed the .2 GT3 could do a 7:40 and von Saurma did a 7:40. They claimed the .2 RS could do a 7:33 and von Saurma did a 7:33. The worst the did was the claim of 7:18 for the GT2 RS when von Saurma could only get a 7:24. While not exactly dead on the money, Porsche's worst claims are still better than any that Nissan or GM have EVER put out. If von Saurma ever gets a production one to test, I am guessing a 2012 ZR-1 is only good for 7:36 based on GM's typical bolstered claims.

4:11 is Angstkurve, but hell yeah Klostertal the next bend after he got iron *****! its funny because i see plenty of places where he probably could have gone faster because of little errors but maybe thats because he is pulling a 7:19 lap! i think the car has more in her.

they say its 6 seconds faster but what tires was this car running before as they mention several times its now on PSC's. i figure that change alone would add much more than 6 seconds if they are comparing to street tires.

Wow. And on stock alignment no less. These project guys clearly take pride in their work. Must eat them up that they can't give the car a better interior. Even a CTS-V has better seats and that's in the family.

I think before they were using a Run-Flat version of PS2's and now they are using a Run-Flat version of Cups. I wonder how much quicker it would be with regular Cups?

Recaros right?

GM and other US manufacturers need to re-evaluate the approach they take to designing and constructing the interiors of their up-market cars. The materials and methods used to put together a Vette is ****-poor.

Maybe they can enlist Audi to help them with the next Vette interior. And they could stop using those damned snap-on fasteners that make it so easy for thieves to rip apart the dash. We all know those stay real tights for about four or five thousand miles.

Don't get me wrong I'm down with Corvettes, just can never see myself owning a modern model.

Question is how many laps can the Corvette sustain that pace.

Spent some quality time at Mosport with
A few Vettes, and quite a few Porsches. After 4 laps of Mosport the ZR1 IAT's get too high
And have a drop off in pace, equivalent to a Z06.
This happens with GTR's as well.
I have not noticed any decline in power in the GT2
after repeated 25 min sessions on a pretty hot day.

+1 Often, you can't and don't have to pass them the first few laps, just sit there and wait for them to slow down. Other times they just disapear in distance never to be seen again, LOL.

Normally the music is annoying on in car video, but I really did enjoy that
You should film our mancation II.

Passing the Z06's even with 600hp was not that tough, I'm about even with the ZR1, till things get heated.
My Turbo was a blast, the GT2 is Blast_Off, by orders of magnitude.

I chose the background music after being taunted to show up to the Rennlist day by 3 out of 4 of the Corvette owners. It wasn't 4 out of 4 because he does not have my email address. The song was a Good fit, especially considering the outcome.

It's tough when you enjoy driving, filming and photography, I'm torn as to which I'd rather be doing, fortunately I brought the gear to do both.
Pls forward details regarding Mancation II, sounds interesting.
