Nah, you guys got it all wrong, way too much rationalization and logic. If fun is the objective... 996 GT3, FTW

+1! The owner wasn't much of a challenge in the mkI Turbo until he made the switch to a mkII Turbo S, then it was: Haven't seen him on the track with the GT3 to test it out

$3k for monoball parts? no way. It's a lot more than that, labor intensive and pricey parts. I did it in my 996 GT3, lots of parts, ERP steering rod links, rear toe links, dog bones, rear upper strut mounts, control arm bearings, control arm bushings, monoball drop links, $8k easily (agree with Mooty).

Moton shocks don't have main springs, tender springs, isolators, installation, corner weights and alignment included. It is a $8k upgrade.

Short R&P gear with labor is a $4k with labor, and sometimes more.

For the same upgrade money, you get a 997.2 RS with a bonus 35Hp, more torque, more downforce, dynamic engine mounts, the super expensive ($7k) carbon seats, a titanium muffler, and it is lighter.
Very true.

In my .1RS i have;

12k under it
20k inside of it
10k track wheels n tires.
10k body parts plus spare bits
10k in labour bills easy

Still no real LSD,

And i still do not have the torque and gearing of the 997.2RS ........

I refuse to spend any more on this platform, therefore a 3.9 upgrade and R&P will not happen anytime soon.......

The good news is that all the above parts can be salvaged to fit on any 997.2 if i really want gearing and larger displacement.....
