Yuk....higher ground clearence. If China goes to #1 Porsche will change to acomodate them...but isn't the cup holders, rear seat leg room and higher ground clearence what the Cayenne and Panamera are all about?

It's a shame. Another sign that PAG is purely focused on the commercial angle of selling cars, even if that takes them farther and farther away from their sporting roots.
Then again, maybe this is the prelude to the GT3 RS 4.2 LWB... long wheel base with rear seats added back and extra legroom!

Didn't watch the video, but read that the PDK take rate in China is nearly 100%.
With the Chinese now dictating car design that is opposite my personal taste, along with EU noise and EU/US emissions regs, I have begun looking backwards rather than forwards when it comes to future vehicles for the stable.

PAG have been planning to enter the Chinese market for a very long time. I met one of the P/P family back in 2002 at Geneva. He was wearing a chinese silk jacket (very elegant) and had come back to Europe after 5 years in China. Now as he is of the next Boardroom generation, this is significant.
However, there will always be enough customers in Germany to get interesting cars, if only in Germany. What the Chinese market wants sounds much like the US customer requirement, to European ears - except the US wants 2 Quart cup holders.

PS It was US customers who demanded those silly seats in the back in the early days.

In China it's all about appearance. You would see moms going grocery shopping at the "City Shop" in 430 Scuderias. And I'm sure they picked that particular car up because it was the most expensive one at the dealer at that time. If the "hey look at me" is all they're after, of course they want the comforts of cupholders, leg room, etc...

While we're on the topic of the Chinese market, this is an actual event in Shanghai two weeks ago:

There were more Apollos and Bugatti's than there are yellow cabs in a New York City block. Even a Zonda R, K'segg Agera and an Aston One-77.
Opulent and OTT on a biblical scale is all I can say.
The cars were obviously nice but tragically the folks knew NOTHING about driving. As evidenced in this in-car video from the same event.
The main voice is the passenger "coaching" the driver... you don't need to understand Mandarin to know what's at the end of the reel... I laughed so hard that I fell out of my chair...

Doesn't the "instructor" (I don't think the guy was an instructor) needs to teach the driver some basic.. like, where should be the turn in point, etc. Before the end of the video, the guy was on the inside of the corner and then just went off track..
Just seems very strange that there's no basic fundamental idea being taught at all.. ?

Yep but it is not going to happen. Just about everything in my industry that is semi pro to mid line and especially low end is from China. Not every musician can afford $5000 drum set and guitars. American company's have priced themselves out of the market.
