What a year its been - new job, moved the family around the world, storm of a lifetime, the company I work for is being acquired... What else can happen before we get into 2013?
But at last I can finally walk out to the garage, look at and tinker with the RS. Oh, and be able to drive it as well
So here is what was done before it was shipped to me:
Full Clubsport interior - seats, harnesses, steering wheel, roll cage, etc
Partial interior delete – carpet and radio
Suspension – Cup/RSR hardware, JRZ RS Pro shocks with 600/800 springs
Brakes - AP/Wrightwood Racing front rotors and Cup rear ducts
Champion RS61 Magnesium and BBS E88 wheels
996 Cup transmission/LSD/clutch with sequential shifter
M&M titanium exhaust with BMC air filter and FVD ECU remap
Manthey carbon doors and inner door panels
Cup rear deck lid/wing and rear bumper
Trunk lining delete
Lightweight battery relocated to the trunk floor
There is probably more I am forgetting... So now all that is left for us to do is the engine and fuel injection. We'll get to that next year after I have been able to drive the car for a while.
Thanks to Rothsport Racing who did an incredible job on an incredible car.
Next on the list is a trailer. I plan to do as many PCA DE and NASA TT events as possible next year here on the east coast. And I'll also do a few PCA club race events (enduro focus) in the Cup car.
Life is as normal as it gets now so I'll be more active on Rennlist again. Its nice to be back

My RS is currently back to street/D.E trim.
After seeing these pictures i think it is time for me to put it back to competition trim
Your car in this configuration really makes the RS, a RS!

Great project. Everything looks awesome.
Where did you get the decklid / wing and Cup rear bumper?
Do you still have stock airbox/air intake setup?
Congrats and enjoy.

Impressive looking line items. I'm not so sure about the side impact protection -- is there anything in the door cavity?
It would be interesting to see the corner balance scale readings.

Let me get this straight, you purchased a car with only 109 miles on the odo and are tearing into the motor. That's insane!
Whatever the case is, that's one beautiful car and you are one crazy sob.
subscribed to this thread and can't wait to see the transformation.

Decklid/wing and rear bumper are from Getty. Yes, stock air box/intake is retained.
The cage has lower and upper door bars and the door cavity photo is attached.
I would like to just enjoy having the car for a few months and then the engine build will start. Lots of interesting options now. I have watched the Ranger 4.2 build with interest
Insane? Crazy? I tell myself I'm not. The car now has 1,200 miles on it. Since I purchased it the car has done a NASA TT weekend at Thunderhill, PCA DE weekend at Road America, used for daily commuting at Rennsport Reunion, test day at PIR and one Sunday drive to coffee and cars But yes, we are going to tear into the motor.
I will finish what I started out to achieve. The car I wanted exactly the way I wanted it (without compromise).

Cannot wait to hear about 4.0 conversion! Maybe that's in the works down the road for me instead of replacing whole car. Your project has lots of people watching. We all have nothing-held-back fantasy mod scenarios in our heads. (At least I do.). Thanks for sharing.

Manthey carbon door skins and inner panels house all the stock window mechanicals and glass. So yes they go up and down If I were doing it again I would not get the carbon outer skin ($ vs. weight saving over the stock aluminum skin) but just have the carbon inner panel. Because of how the car is being used I wanted to be able to retain the stock windows so cup doors weren't an option.
