Front end lift? It will still scrape. I'm just glad I got the 4.0.
I have a green 997.1RS one and am thinking of selling it. What's your reasoning for keeping your green 997.1?

Besides loving the color, it's a little older and more unique. Sure, the '10 is a better performer, but it's much closer to the 4.0 that I'll be getting.

OP: I agree that dealing with buyers is a PIA...a classic comment after really liking the car is ..I need to think about it....WTF...did you just see it on display on your way to have your colonoscopy and need sometime to recover and evaluate....
I would consider a consignment with the standard 6-8% fee prior to trade it in.
as far as value 120-125k seems about right.

There's no "standard" for consignment. Just decide what price is your "floor" and the dealer either sells or not. I wouldn't entertain a consignment above about $2K plus costs -- anything more is not a fair deal. If they want to take on the cost of business (risk capital, insurance and cost of opportunity) the dealer can pursue whatever margin they think is competitive, but in consignment, the owner of the car is incurring the cost of business, so the dealer earns only the commission on sale, plus costs. $2K is ample commish on a $100-150K car. If it was a work of art or some other collectible where the seller creates the market (auction or network) sure, the sky's the limit (and that limit is about 10%) but otherwise, nope, moving iron is good, old-fashioned selling and $2K is ample incentive.

Keep in mind that the consignment is not a ticket to the front of the line -- it's parking space for one car on a lot surrounded by direct competition where the dealer might sell ten cars "off" your car or the buyer might walk in off the street and sign a good check. The dealer will have to inspect the car, detail it and present it for sale (photos, ads on the classifieds Web sites) and make sure their staff is aware of the car. They also have two "customers" to close -- you and the buyer. In other words, the dealer has to sell you on the deal at the same time as having a customer on the buy side to close. Not quite double the work, but still a double-sided job. So if the consignment dealer is doing their job, they're earning their keep -- they should also be on a pretty strict 60 day deadline (which they should welcome -- they either sell a car or they dont, then they have to move on because the business is about turnover and cashflow.)

I wanted Orange PTS for the 4.0, but I have to settle for white w/black wheels.
I don't know if any will be PTS from Porsche for the 4.0 run. Looks like none from what I hear.
