X5 Diesel owns other X5s.

And over here Diesel is cheaper than 87 gas. Not only it costs less to fill up but it lasts a lot longer.

I see no point in a gasoline powered SUV.

I get

Mike they don't sell diesel suburbans, esv, etc diesels anymore.

Maybe crazy idea, but why not find a low milage Excursion diesel and recondition/upgrade it?
Big turbo, redo interior, shocks, sway bars, etc. My '01 was great. Maybe Grey/black paint to match RS?

Congrats on 4 kids. We found 2 is plenty. The shop is closed now.

Our X5 is also for the missus. I can't drive something like that daily. M3 sedan for me, thank you very much. And I don't care about gas mileage (with my driving it's terrifying).

Our next X5 will have the 3rd row. Buy then the oldest one can be in the last row and we can pick up a niece or two.
