Default Unprecedented new model 911

In an unprecedented move, Porsche has pulled out all the stops and delivered a special edition of the Porsche 911 in the form of an all-wheel drive GTS with the ingenious moniker of "Carrera 4 GTS" ... another master stroke of unbridled engineering genius!

ps. I'm kidding, I think it's exactly what I want for a daily driver. : )

It must have the longest name in the back since the "Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce China Limited Edition " : )

I just read on autoweek that it was called the Carrera 4 GT3 typo, but I almost choked on my coffee.

Autoweek:

By GREG MIGLIORE on 5/12/2011

Porsche's 911 Carrera GTS has proved to be yet another potent weapon for enthusiasts craving power and speed. Now comes a touch of all-weather capability in the form of an all-wheel-drive model packing 408 hp.

Called the Carrera 4 GT3, the pocket rocket pushes out 23 hp more than the Carrera 4S. The upgraded variant employs the familiar 3.8-liter flat six-cylinder, and the PDK transmission is an option for enthusiasts who choose not to row their own gears. Tack on the Sport Chrono package, and top speed rises to 187 mph.

The all-wheel-drive system employs electronically controlled traction management. Like all AWD Porsche 911 models, the Carrera 4 GTS gets wider wheel arches in the rear. There also is a special front apron, black side skirts and 19-inch RS Spyder wheels.

The interior is largely black with Alcantara parts and a three-spoke steering wheel.

The coupe starts at $110,200, and the cabriolet starts at $120,100, not including destination.

For those of you that have forgotten. This was the original proposed line up. Of course, the Speedster and Black Editions were added.....

I'm quite partial to the hot pink GT3 GTS ...

I see no mention of the GT3 4.0 RS ... nor the GT3 4.2 RS???

how long do you think it will take for the automotive press to announce the 4.2 if we continue/increase the "chatter" about the 4.2?

not too mention the GT2 4.0 RS ...

This is what happens when (and Porsche has done this for years) you let the marketing guys loose in the extra parts bin area. When they get to the end of the run, these guys go back there and rummage through the parts and see how many "NEW" Models they can come up with. And they come up with a TON of NEW models for the last year or so.
