Question Front Axle lift system

Who thinks it's a good idea? My 3's don't have it, so I do have to watch out for driveways, etc. Does it really work all that well? If you order it, you have to keep the headlight washer system.... ?? Geeez.

It uses the washer motor to pump washer fluid into the front PASM dampers to raise the nose of the car.

Don't have it. Never needed it. Then again, I avoid parking garages like the plague and still have enough depth perception to avoid driving into curbs. Brake ducts scrape long before the air dam.

EOTD, it all depends on where you drive.

Waste of money in my opinion.
But, if you have the money...who cares. Some are faulty (most aren't). It's not going to save you from all scrapes...the driver does that.
Don't take my opinion or someone who hasn't had both. Jenk12m probably has the best advice...or others who have had both.

This. It's an absolute essential for me as I'm in a city of inclines and carparks. Car wouldn't have lasted an hour without the lift. YMMV but for city dwellers I consider it a must.

yea it works great when you have the time to stop and hit button. i.e, right before your going into your driveway. however, you still scrape if there are any undulations in the road and or if your turning in somewhere with on coming traffic, there is no time to come to stop to lift the nose unless have a police escort with you. haha

Yes, indeed, it works except when at speed and you hit a dip in pavement, or you forget to hit the button. From an economic perspective, probably not worth it (expensive option) but if it helps you avoid the dealer due to tearing off parts of the car, it may be peace of mind.

how long does it take? sounds like a while since using the freaking washer motor.

i know lambo's take FOREVER.. easier to just take the obstacle at an angle...

It's a necessity if you live in a city with lots of obstacles like steep parking garage/building entrance ramps, speed bumps, and crap roads. I often scrape even with the lift system engaged so without it, the GT3 would be undriveable to many places I go. Love it. One of the most useful options I'm glad I spec'd on this car.
