Leh Keen / VIR / GT-R / One-Lap / new Mich Super Sports...
- Does anyone remember what the winning One-Lap 996gt2 did at VIR last year on PS2?
- nice video of the car being tested last fall (tire used is the Pilot SS)
- check out the entry fully on gas into the uphill that follows by brakes while going uphill right and left
- not sure this is doable with a 2wdr car - but he sure is fast
- at Daytona (the fastest venue for this year's One Lap), the car hit a 188mph - in three timed laps, Leh's advantage was over 30 SECONDS to 3rd place
- starting to 'want' a GT-R

If you want fast lap times buy a C5 and mod it. It's more fun to drive, much easier to mod and of course 1/3 the price. However saying the C5 is a more entertaining drive tells you a little something about the GTR lol
Here's a C5 running a 1.59 at VIR. I drive against him in TTS and this class has an 8 to 1 power to weight and his car makes about 345 rwhp. Notice the corner and entry speeds WOW.

2 TOTALLY different things... that C5 on street tires in onelap of america trim would not be very competitive.. Also that lap in the GTR was the 4th hot lap ever for the car before Turbo's and tuning of suspension.. the car would easily go 57s now at VIR...
Fun to drive is a personal opinion... i can tell you that I think sub 2:00 at VIR on street rubber is VERY FUN!

The car was build for The Onelap of America event thats held every year in the first week of May....
Its an 8 day long event which visits a different racetrack every day for time trials.. then you have to drive the car on the same tires to the next event.. This year we left from South Bend Indiana and went all the way to Daytona... stopping at summit point. Barber motorsports park.. CMP.. BMW performance center. No problem raceway and Autobahn... Also did a autoX and a 1/4th mile drag race along the way...

Leh, Congratulations !!!
You guys dominated OneLap like nobody has done it before. I thought that the GTR was going to break due to its weight and the miles you put during OneLap, but it proved to be a solid car. It was faster than the modified 996 GT2 you ran last year. I have a new level of respect for the Godzilla thingy.
The Daytona results were shocking, such a gap to between 1st and 2nd place (35 secs faster on the first race).
I watched the drifting video on AxisofOversteer.com, that was fun to see a Godzilla drifting.
Porsches were nowhere near the radar this year, despite of a 2011 Turbo S and a 2011 GT3 RS in the race. The 2nd place overall Porsche just got a bump from the Wet skid pad 1st event, but it was 2 time zones behind during all the track events compared the GTR.
Good job at the autocross as well, holding the lead against a well prepared Civic, 1/2 the weight of the GTR, built for autoX on street tires and driven my a multi SCCA National Champion. I didn't see this one coming.
