Thank you. I was half tempted and anyway, while I hesitated, the landing on the moon was just the right hit, anyway, as far out of the loop as someone might be and worthy of a polite jibe, enthusiasm for the RS is a redeeming quality. I know, I'm getting soft in my old age.

Or is it a step they take to prepare for upcoming 991 GT3? I just do not see much logic in that, those cars are not really in the same market niche.

I just wonder - do they really think to get all the same amount of profit from selling those $185K cars so they ceased regular GT3 production?

that were still on dealer lots 2-3 wks ago.
I think the least likely factor that stopped production is preparation for the 991 GT3 which I doubt is anything other than some CAD files in a computer and maybe an engine design/prototype... I doubt there is a mule yet, and even if there was this would not effect the production line.
Zuffenhausen is a JIT manufacturing facility capable of around 150 cars a day ... they are probably just producing more GTS etc ... they dont 'stop' the
production line unless its a holiday or they require to change the tooling on a
particular assemby station, of which only 2 are robots ...
In typical Porsche tradition the "new" C2, C4, C2S, C4S, Targa, Targa4, and TT/Cabriolets all are released prior to a 'GT' car ...hence everyone's prediction
that any 991 GT3 is a 2013/14 model at best ...
