Default DME report question...

I have the DME report on a GT3 I'm currently looking at, no overrev issues, which is good. However, at the bottom of the report, there is a heading "total distance" which is materially different than the mileage on the car. Should the two #s be the same or are they completely different metrics?

Thanks in advance for all your help.
