"ice mode" is specific to PCCB? Thought there were many guys running PCCB on track with no issues as long as pads are changed regularly and fluids kept fresh...?

Honestly I do not know......but have heard through paddock talk that the follwoing may cause it to happen more often

Ceramic brakes
High initial bite pads (P50)
super sticky tires

or

inproper offset of tires

Maybe someone with more expertise can chime in

Endless brake compounds: W007 and W008. Both are brake compounds that were tested, and created to be high performance brake options for cars with CCM (Carbon Ceramic Matrix) disks. Many of the ultra high performance cars these days (Porsche, Audi, Ferrari, etc) have carbon ceramic disks that are supposed to have extremely heat resistance. However, the brake pads offered as OEM for these applications have been found to be lacking in many ways.

Capable of withstanding temperatures up to 700 degrees C, W008 is a great replacement for OEM CCM Disk brake pads as it works great on the street and circuit. The progressive feel of the brake pad is perfect for cars with ABS and ESP. Because initial bite is very good, the ABS system can work very stable manner. This prevents overheating of the disks, and prevents harmful effects of the silica carbide surface of carbon ceramic disks. W008 requires use of OEM Noise shims.

W007 is a circuit use only compound and because of it's good heat resistance, has shown very stable braking performance on the race circuit. Tested, and proven by some of the top teams in the Nurburgring circuit, the W007 is known to have very slow wear rate and be very durable (as with all Endless race brake compounds).

** Rotor Thermo-paint (AP Racing makes a kit) is recommended for circuit use with W007 or W008 compounds. This will ensure that the rotors are staying in their optimal temperature range, and the brake pad is seeing optimal performance and pad wear.

W008 Friction Coefficient (Mu): 0.35 ~ 0.40
W007 Friction Coefficient (Mu): 0.40 ~ 0.45

Applicable systems: Porsche PCCB, Nissan R35 GT-R Spec V (NCCB), Brembo S.G.L, etc....

I hear that drivers of PCCB equipped cars have abnormally long fingers and like to hear "Les contes d'Hoffmann" at full volume.

Thank you.

I might try them. Perhaps a mix 'n match with oem pads F&R can alter the braking bias a bit.

Should you be using those pads on PCCB rotors?
