Here's a vid of Andreas talking me around the new RS 4.0 (and confirming how short I am). Static, but nicely shot.

FINALLY !!!
More than what I expected. This is the 1st Porsche GT car that makes me think about going back to a GT3.
This is pure performance, the RSR crankshaft was designed to provide lots of torque given that ALMS/FIA-GT puts limits on engine displacement and power figures, countless hours have been dedicated to beefing up the torque, while limiting total HP output by intake restrictors and maximum limit by rules. I did not see this one coming, a GT3 RSR crankshaft installed in the street car engine, and a 50 Hp power increase over the 2010 GT3 RS, gigantic gains for the first time in the GT3 line.
Carbon fenders and carbon hood. Nice!!! better than the lovely 996 GT3 RS.
Lighter shocks with helper springs, weight reduction where it needs to be.
Incredible how the two little bumper canards increased 15% on front downforce.
Best Porsche GT3 ever, I love the Graphics, I love the white wheels and white car. Now I have to find a dealer that would take my deposit and doesn't want to rip me off. Welcome back to 2007.

They have to go with RSR crank since the bore is the same sleeve size is used as the 3.8 and crank provides additional stroke. Curious to see if they were able to maintain the existing car's rev-happy nature.
You can even build a 4.2liter from the GT1 block if you want with off the shelf parts.

Thanks for that interview. You asked the questions one would expect to ask Preuninger on that given interview format.
I love the part where you comment "who cares about top speed!!!", this is what a real enthusiast would say. The best handling cars generate so much downforce that top speed is not their strength, Viper ACR, a F1 car, Porsche GT3 Cup, the entire ALMS field.
Your great work is deeply enjoyed, I just got this at home back from a business trip. One can't read enough Chris Harris

+1 ... glad to see Chris joining the forum ... especially since UK Titanic list appears to be dead now.
Cant wait for the 1st test drive reports!
I LOVE that airbox setup they have in the car ... perhaps another retrofit for the RS 3.8?

I'm sure the new GT3RS 4.0 is going to be an incredible drive!
Keep us all up to date.
Along with myself, I'm sure most of the guys here have been following your career for several years & appreciate your honest & personable nature to performance cars & in particular Porsches.
From driving on the Nurgburgring, to riding along with Francois Delecour, to interviews with Andreas your reviews are always informative & entertaining.
I also agree, the 997 series of GT cars have been a truely memorable series for Porsche fans; hence I purchased a slightly used 997.1 GT3RS & love every minute in it!
Keep up the good work!
