Anyone know what the going rate is for a street GT3 crate motor and tranny?

I have heard numbers but anyone know for sure?

TIA

sell that beast and get a cup... 996 would be easy step up for you, be lower maintenance and require minimal support vs. 997. I am bummed... GMG won't be able to support me for the next POC event at the end of this month... but will be at the Tribute event at Fontana. How about you?

damit.. I'm a tinker-er

won't be at triple crown.. leaving overseas this week... but I'll be getting some track time in europe to help ease the pain of missing it.

I will be at Tribute for the Red Race.. and have a few new addition also!

Wow! Mobonic's thinking about the move himself

When I checked the 997 GT3 engine itself was going around $40k alone... FVD website says $34k with core exchange, that means you need to pay extra $5k since you don't have one.

Jeeez I haven't even had the opportunity to beat you yet and you're already looking for more power?....

One of Dan's customers bought one off E-bay last month for $10k. Something like 6k miles on it, the guy bought a 4.0 for it and sold the motor thru his shop. It runs great....

Rennlister Scott has a fresh GT3 motor for sale from his crashed GT3 w/ harness & brain which you obviously need You'll also need a transmission as yours won't bolt up....

If you can trailer it come on out. Other than changing tires how much support do you really need? It's going to be a big turnout in great weather....

For sure, don't let lack of support from your end stop you. I'm sure there will be plenty of people more than happy to help swap tires because of CLs.

Let me add I have everything you'll need to change tires including fresh nitrogen tanks, air jack hose & wand, Snap-On 4ft torque wrench & 32mm socket, hell I even have the 2 stage air jack surround stands for safety. The only thing I'm missing is a cup car....

Just toying with the idea of putting in a GT3 engine in my car when my 997S engine dies.

But looks like its too much trouble and $$$, might be better off just buying a 997 GT3 and swapping all the parts and keeping my tub as a back up!

Ya I like that idea!
