Wait, whaaat?

You want to keep the C2S and buy a 997 GT3 on the side? Wow!

The one on e-bay has full exhaust on it already, you just need to purchase a tranny for it. I think it'll be cheaper considering your car already has everything that's necessary on the tub.

Motor is about $35k and the transmission is around $16k. That doesn't include any mounts, harnesses, ECU, etc. Best option is to sell your 997S before the engine goes out and get a GT3 instead. It will be by far your cheapest option. As part of the deal, you also get an improved/stiffer/lighter chassis, bigger brakes with better cooling and a much better suspension.

GT3 engine swap would consist of:
Motor
Transmission
Clutch
LSD
Wiring Harness
EC/Brain

It would cost about $60-$80k to do the swap.. or I can just buy a used 997 GT3, transfer all the parts from my car and have a spare tub!

Mo... surely you could have some engine work done for less than a used GT3... Couldn't they bore that sucker up to 4L, update cams, port and polish, etc and get 100 more HP? Car looks great!...

... or you could get a cup car.... hahah.

JR, I just don't have the DIY know-how to pull off my own support of a 2010 Cup. I don't even know how to fill it with gas.. haha.... heck, I have barely just figured out how to drive it! I still don't know what some of the switches do... I am bummed though, as I wanted to best my 1.23 from Feb. But thank you so much for the offer. If I don't sell my RS by then (have a pending sale), I may do the event in my street car. I know it's going to be good times for sure! BTW, big congrats on your feature in POC's mag (driver of year!).

I'm still thinking Mo needs to buy Chris Wilson's car, or at least his spare Bavarro engine...

It's in transit now to Kris's place in Colo. If GA consents there may be a 3.8 X51 in it's future.....

I'm pretty sure GA already cleared the X51 motors. They've got to be sealed units (which last I heard were being sealed by Jerry Woods) that run on the stock ECU. They put a 7300 rpm rev limit on them and a 50lb weight penalty on the car.

The engine on ebay has full exhaust already ($25k). You need a good transmission. Clutch is easy since the engine will be out already (maybe $1k or so). LSD is easy as well since it will not be in the car, just send it to Matt ($1,6000 + installation).

Is it really necessary to do the whole wiring again?

So basically you took a cheaper car and dumped a lot of money it. Just curious, before you did all this did you consider just buying a GT3 Cup? You can get an 05' Cup for about $70k.
