Pccb to steel questions

I've changed the brake lines, put in better fluid, but I still can't quite "get" these Pccbs. They felt better at first after the lines and fluid, and are fine when really hot, but cool off quickly and the pedal returns to mush (to me anyway). I'm going to try another fluid (Motul), but am thinking of swapping them out as so many have done. Plus, fewer worries at the track.
I've searched a poked around but still cannot find the size difference between Pccb and OEM steel. Also, wondering if m/c is the same for both, and if the dealer has to change any of the software (i.e., ABS) once changed to steel. I gather that going to the OEM steel units would necessitate new calipers.
I am obviously new to brake swaps, never have done that on any previous Porsche. Feedback solicited.

on my .1RS I removed pccbs and installed aftermarket steel rotors -- same calipers etc.
I used brembo type III but you can also get Giro Disc brand ones which are less expensive.
no reprogramming needed as far as I know.

I went with Stoptech DRK Kit......stock PCCB Calipers, Stoptech Slotted 2-piece rotors and modified PFC 01 Pads. Braking performance and feel are great and the price is reasonable.

I tried the stoptech DRK (direct replacement kit). Just swap out rotors and install pads (I ran PFC 01). Stoptech will grind the pads slightly to fit the rotors. Great option, but mostly done to preserve the rotors, although some do it to change feel.
I'm not 100% sure swapping rotors would resolve your soft pedal. I never felt this with my PCCBs. Have you let anyone else drive your car? Might be nothing wrong and you'd be throwing money at a non-existant problem or spending money on the wrong solution. I'd first start with Motul or SRF. If still not satisfied, have someone you trust drive the car to see if they concur.
