R888 are snot as soon as they turn into slicks.
How much are the RA1s because the rear 315 30 18s Hoosier are already done and those puppies aren't cheap

Yes, 888s get a little hot in short time, 5-6 laps and start sliding, but if you can get comfortable with the sliding they are actually very good. I like them because of their stiffer sidewalls than RA1s, and the wear seems alright thus far, barley noticeable. For $$$, I think they are good value, but I really want to try the Trofeos next, they did not have it for this event.

Btw, I am using same pressures front and rear, and I like the rear stability, although pushed a little too hard, the rear steps out of course as seen. But I don't have much understeer, throttle-oversteer can be improved. So, may be next time, I'll try 1 psi higher in the rears.

Not sure you can get RA1s unless you get ones that were made some time ago. You next best bet is the Nitto NT01. They make a 315 30 18.

Damn, that's some old rubber, if only tires were like fine wine

Aging could be similar to heat cycling though. In a few more years they could be impervious to wear.

With the cost of the hoosiers and only getting 7 or so heat cycles out of the rears an alternative is likely in the making.

7 or so heat cycles
What? They last at least 16 or so, maybe not so fast the last 4..
I have 20+ on my RA1's now and they are good for 20 more, or at least 10..

When you come up with the alternative, let me know...

I took the car for tech inspection today for SP this coming weekend, everything checked out well, but as expected ... THERE IS NO MORE DIFF!!! Just too funny. At least it is expected, did not take it as bad news.

Found out my diff was fried at VIR last year while at the track. Auto metrics had the car up in the air replacing my rear brake pads and they gave me the news out there. No wonder T1 and oak tree felt so slow

There were several incidents through the weekend, I am not sure of the statistics, but more than what I would say normal. May be it was the combination of the event being first one for many, combined with superb weather.
I know the driver from Potomac....glad he is unharmed.
