Default Clicking noise on RS

When I drive 15 miles an hour in a tight circle, I get a rapid click-click-click noise that changes with speed. I can turn in a wide circle and it takes a higher speed to replicate the noise. Wheel lugs are the properly torqued. This noise is new.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Yeah, I saw that thread....lots of theories and no definitive solution. Last post was in January so I thought that I would start over. Has anyone out there figured this out for sure. Is it wheel torque? (mine are at 350, done properly in the air) It is the fuel line? the wheel weights? I am running stock wheels...so there is all kinds of clearance!

My RS clicked with the first set of tires. Corner workers even heard it on the track.. It was loud enough that they reported it. I wore out the first set of tires and mounted a new set. Never heard the click again. I know it's not definitive, but it seems like remounting the wheels may cure the problem.

I took the wheels off and greased the parts as instructed on the service bulletin. I wanted to do this, but I also did not want to screw it up...so I paid a mechanic to watch me do the work! That was 3 months ago....and the noise just started. I jacked up the car, turned it full lock and spun the wheel...no noise. I looked at the magnets...no evidence of a rub. It really sounds like a metallic noise.

shock tower mounts may rotate in the housing and can cause unusual sounds while turning. I sprayed lubricant into the top and it stopped and occasionally needed more.

are you sure it is not coil springs bind? My stock coils used to make a noise on hard crank.....

Its not the coils...I know that noise. I'll check the shock tower mounts. The noise is coming from the hub. I was guessing wheel bearing.

Shouldn't happen on a new car but the sound and circumstances remind me of CV joint noise.

I just got a definitive answer...and it was my initial thought. Rotors. The noise is coming from 3 corners.

When you say rotors, what do you mean? Is this something the dealer is aware of? I have experienced this noise mostly during hard turning.

I mean rotors as in I am going to replace them. The dealer is aware now and they are on order. This makes sense. Its not the wheel magnets rubbing on the brake duct, which would sound like metal on plastic, its not the fuel line since it happens on 3 corners of the car, it’s not the wheel torque...that was checked and a wheel bearing can be diagnosed by shaking the wheel. I received a PM saying that replacing the rotors fixed the issue.

I have no idea what your issue is. Just that when I saw it was you posting, I wanted to come and have a look at your avatar again
