Default '11 Meteor Grey GT3 at Michael Stead

There's an '11 Meteor Grey GT3 on consignment at Michael Stead Porsche. $128K MSRP; 1703 miles. Anyone care to give a market read on it? Also, is anyone here the owner?

LOL,
let me tell you this. they offered me $80k for my 2010RS.
heard of INSULT?
so how much you think they have in that car? $50k?
the best thing at stead is their service crew, everyone is cool and enthusiastic and knows their craft. the sales crew.... well, when they start making me happy..... they have tried to get my business for since 2003... but they never figure out why i dont buy from them.... hum.... THINK ABOUT THAT.

Mooty, I had to read that twice. At first I assumed the $80K was for an 07 or 08 RS which I think is quite low. $80K for a 10 is certainly insulting.

i dont have prob when they offer me low, but i have a prob when the arbitrage is exorbitant. if a dealer sell used RS at 90k then yes, 80k offer may make sense. but they all sell over 100k. some of my business is arbitrage and at dealers' arbitrage margin, i could have retired at 15 years ago.

Mooty - that $80K offer is seriously insulting,... that's really telling you that they either don't know their market or are not interested in inventorying your RS. Either way, that is handled SO poorly and tastelessly giving you an $80K offer,... this is a dealer??? You should tell the Sales Mgr or the GM.

it was from the manager.
they have also offended several ppl on RL, one of which was quite well known in porsche world and a very heavy hitter. but hey, there are plenty of old money in their neighborhood. they dont have prob selling their cars.

Ok brain trust, given SSTHO's recent purchase of a similar car, anyone care to proffer what a reasonable price would be for said car? Is 10-20% off MSRP the right approach? The dealer may be a group of tools but I still have to formulate a reasonable value Thanks all.

PS: Mooty, given your purchase history, the dealership must be staffed by complete morons not to see you as a relationship worthy of cultivating.

As a past Porsche Dealer GM, that's just unacceptable. I would rather kindly decline and offer a best price after I chat with wholesalers and let you know. Giving an $80K offer on your car is telling you to screw off,...

However, at the same time, I know many GM's don't know of or follow online forums/blogs, etc. (don't see relevance or just ignorant). It is dealer staff's responsibility to know public perception and protect the brand and dealer equity and reputation. Forums have a lot of influence,...

Hi Chris - sry, didn't mean to hijack your thread!

I stepped up to Sam's $99K asking for the record. I have no issues with that at all. I wanted the center muffler delete and thicker pipes. I always loved the red stitching on the grey as well.

I dealt with some dealers in the US and they didn't want to fire sell (delusional about market price and focus more on their cost basis,... regardless how much time elapses from day of inventory). Dealing with dealers is tough as it depends what they are into for the car. Sadly, Porsche dealers focus on new cars and do not fare well with used or demo mileage cars (don't churn cars quick enough and buy too high). If you plan on keeping the car for a while, I would certainly go for a CPO,... that is a real dealer value-add. However, if not, forums and private sales would be best.

Chris, have you seen the car? Do you need someone to go take a look? I've seen it. I didn't look it over with a fine tooth comb, but I thought it was in excellent condition. Gorgeous car.

ELMEL: Thanks but have to imagine it's damn near perfect. Pretty hard to mess up a car in 3 mo/1700 miles. Just trying to get a gauge on price as I had been looking at '10's. Nobody has answered the pricing question yet - just that the dealer tends to be unrealistic about pricing. Asking MSRP seems to be a bit off; that much I do know.

next week, a dealer in another state had listed it for $206k....

'11 GT3, 1700 miles, 128K MSRP - would offer $108K and pay anywhere between $110-$115, today. Good deal for both parties.
