Guys:
I've been doing a little information gathering on the slotted and the dimpled Performance Friction rotor options for the 997.2 GT3 and GT3RS. After communicating with the Motorsports Director at Performance Friction here what I have found:

The race rings are narrower as there are no provisions for the anti-rattle bevel springs/rings, as on the street type rings. The race rings are lighter and are full floating. The street rings are broader to support the bevel springs and therefore quieter for the street. Both are suitable for track day use. Also, the current hats offered by Performance Friction have round holes for the Porsche drive pins. The old style hats with the oval holes are no longer produced. All the hats we have are the current version produced by Performance Friction.

Slotted discs offer more bite and clean out a little better than the dimpled discs. The slotted discs are noisier and not recommended for the street. In the case of the race discs, they are lighter as they are 32.0mm thick (20.3 lbs) vs. 34.0mm thick (23.3 lbs) for the front dimpled discs. We weighed both on our UPS scale, while still in the boxes. The 34.0mm should have more thermal capacity so therefore should last longer.

The slotted race rings and hats are sold separately, not together as a kit like the dimpled. The slotted rotors are 378x32mm, the dimpled are 379x34mm. Performance Friction says to use the PF7819 pad with the 378x32mm slotted rotors. You can use either the PF0991 or PF7819 with the dimpled rotors.

So we are running a Rennlist special on both the slotted and the dimpled rotor/hats assemblies through November 30th.

Pricing is as follows:
Slotted rotor/hat combination with front pads: $1899, shipped. Replacement slotted rings, $410 each. The slotted rotors and hats do not come assembled and should be assembled by a qualified shop/installer.

Dimpled rotor/hate combination with front pads: $1540 shipped. Replacement dimpled rings, $360 each.

Front pads: $359 per set.

Rear pads: $270 per set.

We have the rotors/hats and replacement rings in both dimpled and slotted in stock. We have plenty of front and rear pads in stock. If you have any questions, please email me at mark at og racing dot com, or PM me at your convenience.

Kind regards,

That was a helpful summary of the options.

Slotted look cooler. Mine are working well on the street. They are not loud.

Peter:
I have PF0991 (same shape as Pagid 2707) in 08 in stock (will work with the 379.34 dimpled rotors). Waiting for restock of the PF7819 in 08 which we've been told are shipping today. Have plenty of rears in 08.

Carrera51 I wish Performance Friction had either 08 pads for my GTS which uses 996 Turbo calipers are rotors...and/or 2005-2012 997S/ Carrera S brakes.

I tried 97 and 01 PFC pads and they ate rotors and transferred way too much heat to the caliper. Pagid Yellows seem to run cooler.

Keep me in mind if you know of any upgrade packages.

I'd love to upgrade to some point to GT3 calipers and rotors.

Mike:
I agree. the 08 or even the 06 compound would be the right PF pad for your Carrera GTS. I'll work on this today and report back. Also there is a PF rotor/hat combination that I know works on the 05-08 Carrera S. I have the info on my laptop, and will post it when I find it. Do the rotors on your GTS still have the same part numbers as your previous Carrera S?

Yes GTS rotors are same size but I have center lock wheels. Thanks!
