Some customers were told that it wasn't an option. Apparently that "policy" changed as demand for the car lagged, but nobody bothered to invite customers to update their orders.
The base care is pretty well loaded. Getting to $275K would mean PTS over $20K. I'm guessing it was more like $10K, and probably another $2K just for the rear console. : )
Astonishing to see them deny you a request.
There's something broken in the way Porsche fulfills orders.
I'm no fan of the 458 (other than its spec sheet) but at least you could play with one and get out of it with no drama. These first few weeks of the 2RS suggests the people buying it to own and drive it are in good company and will enjoy the car for a long time to come (it might be a long time before Porsche focuses on a great 911 again.) The people speculating or expecting to sell it and move to the next toy are not going to fare too well, so hopefully for them, it's just spending money.
At least this car looks like it's going to someone wanting to keep it and they've certainly got a unique example.

There was no policy change… from the beginning I was told that if I want PTS I will have to wait till the very end of 2RS run and then the color I pick will have to be approved by PAG. I know of two other individuals that wanted PTS but had there color choice rejected. My understanding as well is that with the tight production schedule for the N.A. cars PTS was not an option for North America
Yes $275 is way too high for the 2RS even with the PTS option…
Yes this is a keeper…

The contrasts bewteen the black hood, mirror caps and wheels works well with the Rivi Blue - nice!
