TC + SC turns itself on? TPS not working right

No slicks for me..
Sorry for my babbeling..
I like TPS because on the MKII I found them to be accurate, but I usually "lose" one or 2 tires pressures on the dash and they give a "flat tire" warning. No real flat, TC and SC stays off.
I just click it away, but as long as I can see one front and one rear I like it. When a tire really goes flat (Flop flop) the car turns on TC and SC. Happened only once.
I might have 2 different brands of TPS and I mixed wheel sets.
One day I will take all 8 tires off and look at them, marking which ones did not work the last weekend. I still think it can be made to work because some wheels work all the time all weekend long.
On the street they all work, all the time.
On the track each weekend the same ones don't want to work, even when I switch wheels!! Weird.
Peter, what are you trying to say? That you like the TPS because you usually drive without nanny assist, but when you got a flat it signaled it to turned on?

FWIW, I have no TPMS on my track wheels and I have never had PSM and or TC turn on after I shut them off. They do turn on whenever you re-start the car however.
I did not buy TPMS for my track wheels because the pressures we use on track tires are too low and TPMS tells me I have flat tires. So unless your track tires use pressures which are close to those programmed into the TPMS computer, you will still get warnings. FWIW, the 2010 cars and later seem to have much more accurate TPMS readings. Within a pound of my fancy calibrated pressure gauge.
Best,

That is interesting.. so they are never really off.. even in an RS.
If this is not a glitch in your car, then it appears that Porsche joined VW and the other manufacturers in the liability law game.
"you can "completely" disable ESP but if it senses that you really lost the car, then it turns it self back on..to save you"
Long live the 6!

No, when they'r off they're off.
You can spin the car and if the engine still runs I assume it's still off.
If the car thinks you have a flat or other real problem, it can turn on appearently.

Of course it's safer to have all the help in the world when you get a flat tire or whatever but my point is that day by day and in small steps we are losing something very important called control.
Safety and luxury systems are a wonderful thing but please allow me to decide if and when I will use them or not.
I don't care what the reason that they turn back on is.
I want to know that when a button says off, it's not an illusion but reality.
Anyway no matter what I say or think it won't change a thing, apparently decisions have been made already, regarding the future of cars..

Yes, I agree.
I hate MB like EPS that never goes away when driving. It would ruin a track car.
In my case I think Porsche is still on the good side of the line.
Porsche goes away completely when the car is OK. In my case it was great for it to come on because something was wrong with the car. Maybe it will save my *** one day without it ever interering with my driving.
They guy with the slicks probably does not agree with me, but I will reserve verdict until he figures out what is wrong with the car.

Trackcar - on my 2007 RS and my 2010 RS, TC/PSM NEVER turns back on even with flat tire warnings from TPMS nor with TPMS reporting no signal. They turn on by default when I start the car. Something seems odd here.

Not a fan of TPMS for the track either. Warning is constantly on due to low pressures and in my experience it's not accurate. I can understand when the TPMS and manual pressure readings don't agree but what I find odd is when TPMS finds variation in the pressures but manual shows no variation; i.e. TPMS shows front left/right pressures vary 1 lb but manual gauage shows exactly the same pressures.
Good to hear the '10's have improved.
Never had an issue running without TPMS on my Cayman but decided I'd better add them on the GT2 just in case I have gremlins. Didn't consider turning off...

I could believe that with TPMS "present" that a catastrophic pressure loss (puncture) while the car was in motion would be a trigger for SC+TC re-enablement, a simple 'low pressure' warning would not be cause ...
