These guys may be bad, but they are quite famous in Adenau and Nurburg. Their video is nearly as famous as that of the yellowbird...(for a different reason).

By the way I like your car, except I wouldn't have put the "RS" script on...

Peter, I'll trade you my car for yours straight up. I'll either leave or remove the vinyl...your choice!
I think the "instruction" comments were not made in a malicious manner; it would be a shame to wad up such a nice car while on track due to a silly driver error is all. Plus, that car has the potential to smoke most cars on track on any given day when driven well. That could quiet down Clifton...

....and kudos on the Clifton comment, and also to JAMS for coming through with pics for the OP!!

Let me interrupt you two.
Shawn, your car looks cool. Enjoy it safely.
Please don't be offended, but to throw tens of thousands of dollars at a car with 10 track days or so of experience under your belt is not safe, nor educational. If you are serious about really learning how to drive correctly on the track, you need way more seat time and instruction behind the basic car. Once you are comfortable and have real skills that are not masked by your car's performance, modding is appropriate and rewarding. That's only my opinion. I also agree that "upbadging" the car is odd, but I won't judge you because of that. A GT3 is a special car and I personally have worked my way up to owning one and now tracking one. I respect the GT3 for what it is - a GT3. I need more seat time to even come close to driving it like it should be driven and close to the limits.
Unfortunately, I cannot help you with a 997.2 RS air box since I only have a GT3. You may try other forums. Good luck and take care.

You're right, people should be kinder, but I'll answer your "so, what's it to you?" question. Driving like in the video in the advanced group can be dangerous - both to the OP and to others around. Learn how to drive a stock car first before going crazy on mods. I know your Boxster has significant modifications, but you know how to drive, your lines are correct, you are predictable on the track, you understand the reasons for every mod without having people tell you about it or reading it online, and you know what effect the mod had since you drove your car stock.
Once again, ...
Someone, just "show us a box", I guess.

I have been "respecting" the GT3 for awhile now. I drove it stock for well over a year (07-08). Not all the mods were done at once, and I understand the reasons and effects of them. I think there is an underlying reason for you not liking the mods besides safety..

Hi OmahaGT I have toyed with the same idea for my 2010 GT3. To be honest I haven't done a lot of research on it but as I recall (probably wrongly) I think the MAF and vacuum lines may be slightly different between the .1 and .2 cars (I am doing this from memory btw).
While you can order the wing, decklid, airbox etc and make it all fit, you should probably check that the electrical (MAF) and vacuum systems will be compatible.
and ...
for what its worth, I think you have done a pretty nice job on your car ... its not for everyone, but I
think if it makes you happy, which it seems to ... enjoy it in good health!

Clifton, leave the guy alone....what the hell do you care if he stickers up his car? Upbadging is weird and I would never do it but I have no idea why you would care so much.
Anyway, Omaha, I found this image, dunno if it helps.

Omaha, you have a nice car for sure. Now go and get some good instruction and do as many track days as you can and hang out with the fast guys in the slow cars...they are the good drivers and can teach you all sorts of stuff.
Anyway, back to the show (which is entertaining I admit )

Yes! Thanks.
Hi OmahaGT I am nearby Omaha and quite often on MAM (20 or so Fast Fridays a season) My new GT3RS will arrive in mid March, however I will still track my M3 during the brake in period. I am not a race car driver, but has some track and rally car experience. (mainly form Europe - I came to the US 11 years ago) I would be happy to offer some insights / opinion at the track. Whenever i can I will be at MAM, but only for the morning sessions - I have a white 09 M3 and the GT3RS will be white/red combo. (Black helmet)

I was thinking most here would disagree, but to each his own; I can't stand RS stickers and faking even less.
Then again you might thing I'm nuts as I must have 30lbs of wrap and about to add some more ;-) You have a nice car if you can stand the RS references. Enjoy your modding!
I will try to ake a picture with the box off next week.
You lost me a bit with the last post; Maybe better to give it a rest?!
I do not consider it "upbadging." I consider it livery.

Thinking more about my previous on topic remarks above, ignorance, you should be able to fit the RS air box to the .1 rubber collar thus I think obviating the need to deal with any MAF or vacuum compatibility issues ...
Is anyone listening?

Thanks, I would like to see the holes in the engine bay that hold the box in place. Some modification will possibly be required there.

You should! Your comments have been very condescending and say more about you than me. They put fast cars in the fast/advanced group. You'll for sure be in there now with your beautiful GT3.

of it for sure. Airbox is going to be in the n'hood of $1k+ or so. I would not
be surprised to see a final total north of $10k ...
Also, consider this. The aero on the .2s was changed significantly front and back, doubling the downforce over the .1, fitting an RS or Cup wing to the back of the car will significantly increase the downforce at speed, without changes
to the airflow/downforce on the front this could lead to high speed instability ...
just a thought. I am not sure if it is feasible to make the changes to the
front which would minimally require the .2 front bumper and splitter.
Please at least obtain and install a .1 cup front splitter on your car (if you have not already done so)
good luck, pls document when you do this.
p.s
I think you will find that that mounting points for the airbox in the engine compartment will be the same for the RS airbox as the .1.
