I've been working with Ric at Suncoast to compile a parts list. Your estimate is pretty accurate.

Air box- $550
Deck lid- $5140
Wing blade- $3000
Uprights- $760
Painted piece between rear window and deck lid- $870
3rd brake light and harness- $130
1 rubber gasket- $6
Grill- $41
hardware- $20

I do not believe the 997.2 creates twice the downforce at all. I may switch to 997.2 bumper, but mainly for LED DRL's. I am running Oakley Design lip now and can always switch back to cup lip if necessary.

Porsche's pricing is ridiculous on some things. Too bad there's not a solid aftermarket option. The front bumper cover price is insane right now!

of it for sure. Airbox is going to be in the n'hood of $1k+ or so. I would not
be surprised to see a final total north of $10k ...

Also, consider this. The aero on the .2s was changed significantly front and back, doubling the downforce over the .1, fitting an RS or Cup wing to the back of the car will significantly increase the downforce at speed, without changes
to the airflow/downforce on the front this could lead to high speed instability ...
just a thought. I am not sure if it is feasible to make the changes to the
front which would minimally require the .2 front bumper and splitter.

Please at least obtain and install a .1 cup front splitter on your car (if you have not already done so)

good luck, pls document when you do this.

p.s
I think you will find that that mounting points for the airbox in the engine compartment will be the same for the RS airbox as the .1.

I already ordered the rear bumper with clear LED's. They may make it look too busy, and I just might end up removing the stripes!

way cool ... thats a pretty decent price on the wing ...

on the matter of downforce, I believe that the increased downforce numbers are documented and available. At street legal speeds I dont think it will make
a significant difference, I would be cautious on track...

good luck if you do this, pls post pictures if you do!

presumably you dont HAVE to change the rear bumper?

I shudder to think what that will cost incl 2x clear taillights + the bumper etc!

It could have been worse. Hopefully install goes smoothly.

Wow, I meant no offense. Just debating your point. I appreciate your insight.

Very helpful JAMS!! You are the man!! I have those same holes in my engine bay, so that won't be an issue. Thanks again!!

Larry your response was very dramatic. My front end is not floating away, and I don't see any way for the facelift front bumper cover to produce much more downforce, let alone double. Happy to be proven wrong.

I would not recommend guessing when dealing aerodynamics. While it maybe be true to say, they look pretty close there is no reasonable way to really tell downforce produced by the front end without measuring it.

Will you go careening off the track at high speed because of unbalanced downforce? Likely not, but you could, but isn't that part of the beauty of modding ones car?

Good luck.

Geoff
