Default Cup Car Steering Wheel installed

Always wanted to do this mod and after seeing a few of you guys do it. I contacted a vendor that u doesn't support this site to have him ship me the wheel and hub. Mike if you're out there I got to say thumbs up! Yo've been super to deal with.

Here are the pics as taken from my BB so sorry for that.

I love how it feels and even though it blocks the upper part of the rev counter, I feel that I don't mind it because I have a clear view of the redline. The dealer was able to make the horn work even though I still have an airbag light.

Fresh pics of the car as taken today.

welcome to the club!

The wheel really does feel better in your hands.

There is a way to have your quick release and horn function with no airbag light.

Do you wear your harness during regular street driving? I would hate for something bad to happen if you got in an accident without an airbag up there.

MJSpeed, thanks! Swear it drives different even on the street.

tcsracing1, Heard it's a good club to belong to Lights don't bother me that much but if you know if a resistor might work then I'm all ears.

aero997c2s I just wear the regular seatbelt. I'm old school, used to cars with no airbags.

do a search on the forum. There is a post on how to have quick release with horn function.

i actually have the horn function but not with quick release. Im going to do the mod this year.

to delete the airbag light you can use Durametric software.

Wheel looks great. No airbag though!

I think the 7RS standard wheel is good. A lot better than the .2 7RS wheel with the plastic spoke section extending onto the rim where you hold it. Damned designers! The new GTS has a much nicer wheel. Wonder if it can be swapped or the .2 7RS wheel modified (and keep the airbag - important if you're not a good driver)?

You can easily swap to the .1 7RS but you will have to buy the steering wheel along with the appropriate airbag which can be expensive. I'm pretty sure that there are people with the older steering wheel that are willing to exchange theirs with your steering wheel.

Looks great...that mod would never be street legal here in the USA. The use of an airbag in a 3 point street seatbelt has proven to save lives though.
