I may be interested if the sizes above equate too;;;

315/30/18 R 245/40/18 F

I'm at the edge as far as room is concerned... What is the longevity?

I don't know the size conversion from slicks to street but I seen these similar type of slicks mounted on 18" rims for GT3 w/o issue.

Here is a link to the yoko tire size and recommended rim width: http://www.bobwoodmantires.com/bwttires.php

I have run these on my car on CCW 9*18 & 12*18 with no problem

The will work on all 997's......

the rear tire may be too tall for 996's so you may want to ask you local shop

example for conversion:

road tyre 235/40/18
means
235mm width
the 40 is percentage of the width of the tyre representing the tyre wall
and 18 is wheel diameter in inches
to find the full diameter of tyre and wheel
you add 18x2,54= 45,72cm plus 23,5cm x 40%= 9,4 cm for each side
45,72 + 9,4 + 9,4= 64,52 cm

slick tyre 24/64-18
24 width in cm
64 overall diameter in cm
18 wheel size

Do they offer rain slicks Mike?

Thanks John. That helps to explain the numbers.

I am not sure if they have rain slicks. I will give them a call and let you know in a few

Cheers

I was told someone heat cycle then 15 times before replacement ... but it all depends on driver. I would guesstimate 10-15 sessions for DE and 1-2 PCA race

Let me share my experience with them last year. I was surprised how long they lasted, I was getting 15 HC's out of them and I'm not nice to tires. I raced 3-4 races with them before they fell off at all.

Shahin they're perfect for 996's as well as 997's or any other car that runs 8.5 -10" up front, and 10 to 12" in the rear.

We bought 10 sets yesterday so don't hesitiate guys. They won't last at $1,200. per set. Some other shop bought 30 sets today so beg, borrow, steal but get them now....

I'm just guessing at heat cycles, but it won't be much.
Plus it's like crack, you'll be on slick forever.

The last time I saw a GT3 try slicks he locked up all 4 and hit the guueard rail..

What I found with slicks (Yokos) is that they probably have 10 cycles or so but then they "slow" down to R6 levels of grip for another 5 or so cycles. So, it's not so bad.

BTW, the person that hit the guardrail with the slicks didn't understand that you have to get lots of heat into the tires ASAP.
