This isn't just a group buy. The Yokohama's are on sale with Trackside Performance, the US distributor for race Yoko's. Anyone can buy them or put a group together. Troy at Trackside priced them at $1,500. per set individually, and $1,200 if you're buying several sets. These are the Patron Cups that sold for $2,200 to the IMSA cup racers.

Call Troy at (949) 589-5394

My two cents: Stick with Hoosiers slicks or Pirelli slicks or Michelin slicks. I did not like the Yokos as the rear end moved too much and they were not confidence inspiring vs any of the above mentioned.

My two cents: Bet you were on their Club Sport line not the Patron GT3 tires since you previously couldn't buy these tires outside of IMSA. These tires are very, very good tires....

BTW, the person that hit the guardrail with the slicks didn't understand that you have to get lots of heat into the tires ASAP
.

No, nothing to do with that, for some reason not all slicks match ABS GT3's and the unexpectedly lock up fully. Some combo's can not be made to work.
I don't know what exactly causes it, or with what slicks, but I know enough to be careful with them.

$1200.00 for 10-15 heat cycles is tempting; 2:16's at Sebring??

I have time and pallets of $700.00 sets of RA1's and barely enough money ;-)

First I set personal bests on all tracks with old Toyo's. Then, when I run out, I go to Hoosiers and finally mod suspension and do it on Slicks. This way the car and tracks are all a challenge 3 times over :-).

no point in DE.
they will not be fast for more than 4 HC.
after that, it's just practice tires.
