Skip Barber- Ripoff Report- Buyer Beware

Well that explains the short shelf-life of your SB avatar. Sorry to hear about the hassles. Rule number one in business: the customer always comes first. Some guys get. Some don't.
Maybe consider jimrussellusa next time. Don't have any color on their service but much faster cars and appears to be more sophisticated program.

Lol... Mooty Academy....
Learned more about the line and how a neutral balanced car responds to control inputs and especially trail braking. Hard to get those cars rear out under power but easy to rotate on corner entry. Much more sensitive than a GT3 in regards to rotation ability.
Lap times were nothing to talk about, primarily because I could not turn my head at times. And was not comfortable, sliding around the cockpit until an instructor loaned me his personal foam insert. And then I could move my head even less. As I recall the cars are doing 110 mph just before braking at T2?

Pete,
I've had nothing but great experiences with Skippy (Lime Rock). No affiliation.
Help me understand - you took the course, had safety concerns throughout, and then asked for your money back?
Sorry you had a bad experience.

Sounds like he asked for a refund on some additional events (lapping & race 1 of a race series) he was going to do in the future. Not a refund on the class.

Coming from Savy, I'll take it to the bank.
Why would mods move this?? Thanks for posting!
My wife was threatening something like that for my big four-oh B'day this year.
Whatever I do, it'll be in the trusty RS..

Pete, so sorry to hear this - sucks!
Last month when I was at an event at LS I spent some time wandering the Skippy area, especially taking time to look, in detail, at the single seaters. What I noticed was that those cars were beat well past their useful lives. Your story only confirms that. Very sad that this brand has jumped the shark.

Mike, my perception is the Jim Russell school cars are much newer and much faster. And it costs a lot more. I ran Skippy because of an instructor that I formed a good relationship with during private coaching. He is a great guy and provided a lot of value.

Spun several times But that is good for learning (as long as you understand why you spun of course).
trakcar, you should intercity your rs over to the west coast for some fun with the boys at ls. Working on it. It was one of the topics at Sebring last weekend.
If my Amex will stand it, I might park my truck, trailer and RS + friends RS there for a few months late summer.
Me thinks July - Sept and try to hit 6-8 tracks. NJGT and some others might ship the Fiat and he knows the way..
The Midwest / North is also an option. Thinking Chicago in May..
Can't commit $$ and time wise yet, but I'm scheming..

Now we know better. I thought too. My personal opinion is they must be on thin ice financially to be willing to do such severe damage to their brand.
Glad to hear you had a good experience. Half correct- I intended to do the full winter open wheel race series. The first prep class I took I found out about the cars. I then immedietly requested refund of two future sessions I had already paid for. There was never a hassle about agreeing to refund, it just never happened.

Try entering the Corkscrew when you can't look down...
Summer here, like Florida, is generally hot as hell. Laguna Seca perhaps not so bad as it get the coastal winds. But inland tracks will roast you alive without a cool suit. At least we don't have your humidity.

Let it also be known that GT3 Chuck, a Mod on 6Speed refuses to let my post stand in the GT3 forum claiming it is off-topic. He has removed the thread to off-topic forum. I cannot comprehend this and you should all be aware of this action and judge it for what you will.
Why would a moderator not allow this post as a public service? I presume most all of you know both 6Speed and RL are owned by the same company- Internet Brands.

And yes, open wheel rear-engine cars give whole new meaning to snap-throttle oversteer.
