We had a pretty big, heavy plastic bag attched to the exhaust of our old RS6 once. No smell or smoke, but a total pain in the *** to get off...

That is exactly the thought I had when I brought in the 997.2 4S Porches lent me to test drive in Carmel last year for Pebble Beach. Didn't know it was called cosmoline!

Could be some dust burning off from the exhaust. Plastic shavings, etc. The car is new and is getting broken in. Next time stop after warming up with the engine running and see if there is more smoke.

If it was something more serious it would have developed into something by now. Check the link in my sig

+ 1 on that ^ takes a few runs to burn off...scraping is not effective; the plastic just welds itself there

With my .1 GT3, after 3 years, I often still got the smell of popcorn or burning leaves. I think the car may have been gathering leaves somewhere... never did get to the bottom of it.
