That's not the first time such a comparo has been run. McLaren Tag evinced similar delta in performance in mid 80's. Lauda at wheel of the F1..with a British Touring Car (ford sierra cosworth?) and if memory serves an M3 road car (the real M3 to boot). Had Lauda completing a cup of tea before he entered the race...and still managed to finish a lap of Brands Hatch (?) before the others...

An f1 car is slower from 0 to 100 km/h than from 100 to 200

But true enough. Wings produce serious downforce above 60-80, where the thing really starts to fly. At full chat, some have noted that just getting out of the throttle from top speed is worth 1G; I don't know if that's true, but I don't want to let the facts get in the way of a good story, either. Suffice it to say that when you do get out of it, the drag is monumental. But the brakes would be the most outstanding thing to remember, and a carbon/carbon setup behaves differently than conventional racing brakes. Totally outstanding.
