I don't think it's fake, you can see people moving at normal pace on the left side of the screen.
And also the other cars on this video are from a trackday or something, I saw a lotus an old porsche a hatchback etc.
From a quick GS:
F1
0 - 100 km/h 2.0 seconds
0 - 200 km/h 4 seconds
0 - 300 km/h 8.5 seconds
And "Eau Rouge corner F1 at around 300klm/h and GT cars at around 150-180km/h."

that's insane. what's the 60-130mph on an F1 car?
a gearhead friend of mine recently had the opportunity to ride in a 2-seater F1 car (the special one the use for promos and VIP F1 rides) at an F1 track.
he said that the acceleration and G-loadings were so violent that, given another opportunity to take a ride, he would definitely pass.

At that spot of the track F1 cars are at around if not faster than 290 KPH so roughly 180 MPH. (Source F1.com)
As I mentioned in another thread it would be more comparable of an overlay if these were FIA GT1 cars such as the Maserati MC12's, Corvettes, Lambo's...trackday cars driven by regular joe's isn't a fair comparison IMO. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3c3i4vIR88U

I think the video is fake. The F1 are moving like they are F22s. I'm exaggerating, but still they look like they are going much too fast. I've been to an F1 race, and they don't look as fast as in the video.

I know that Indy cars aren't quite in the same league as F1, but I highly recommend the ride-along experience that they offer in their modified 2-seater car. I've done it at Infineon a few times, and I think it's a must-do. Even if you track a GT3 or GT2, it's just not the same thing. The Indy cars do 0-100 in 3 seconds, and with 5000 lbs of downforce they corner at 4-5 g. Trust me, all of you need to do this. If any of you track your cars, you'll really be able to appreciate what the Indy cars can do.

I should add that my wife got this for me as a gift a few years ago. Before I went, I looked it up online, saw the price, and thought, "Yeah, this'll be fun, but it won't be worth the money." (It's about $500 for about two laps.) By the time I got to turn 1 at Infineon, I remember thinking that it was worth every penny.
Trust me, guys.
