Congrats! At least you got to test drive it lol. That's a rare feat based on my experience.
At least the dealers let me sit in the car and turn on the engine

Congratulations.

997 GT3s make good street cars, too. I wouldn't hesitate much choosing between a Carrera S or a GT3. GT3 all the way unless you expect to drive it in winter or anticipate to torture people by stuffing them in the space called the back seat.

As this is a family forum I'm not going to type what I said, but think Cartman from South Park.

I found a '07 that was in my budget and it followed me home, thanks a lot (I think)

It truly is a big mistake to drive one of these things! That's what I did and I couldn't keep my mind off of it until I got it a week later. The only cure for this disease is to get one. Take it to the track!

Very cool - good luck next week, and enjoy the new RS!

Nothing like a GT3 - period.

Bought my 6gt3 wo even a test drive just word of mouth. Signed papers and 1st thing is scraped lip spoiler as I left, car's alignment was off and ride is stiff, clutch pedal was heavy and front swaybar was clunking next day. All in all best car I ever owned once I took out on track!!! Mike

Thanks, the first car I ever drove was my neighbors 356 cab when I was 14 and I received a lot of my "wrench training" from one of the founding members of the PCA so I figured it was time I had a Porsche of my own.

Shooting for Summit Point April 9th, but who's counting. I've raced boats for 40 years and I'm interested in seeing if anything translates.

No, that was done by the previous owner. The car has been tracked but I wasn't too concerned, I had the dealer run a DME scan and there were only 51 over-revs in range 1, nothing in 2 - 5 with a little under 13k miles.

The plan is that will be a DE toy, racing a GT3 competitively is way out of my budget.
It's surprisingly docile under 4,000 RPM and I try to commute in it once a week. That all changes when you hit 4,000 though, I can only say is that this thing is a hoot and it puts a big assed grin on your face. Don't drive one, you'll give in to the temptation too

SWMBO drove both of them also (her ride is an M3) and I didn't get much of an argument except the S was blue which she liked better (the blue), I did too.....

I think with your attitude, you got what you deserve. Live with it.
