As for you Blake there is a 997.1 for sale asking 72K. black on black 30K miles though.... cars.com. I'm actually considering kush07 white GT3 if this 996 gt3 doesn't pan out.
if you do more street then track you will want the 997 over the 996.
(the 996 gt3 is an awesome buy and machine however!)

if you are a 993 guy, you will prefer the style of 997, especially in RS form for the wider body.

Tom, I totally agree the 997 gt3 looks significantly better. I've narrowed my choices to 6gt3 if price is around 50-55 with my desired colour, miles and options, even if I don't end up liking it i feel the depreciation curve is close to the bottom and it wouldn't be too hard to unload. 7gt3 around 75K only in white, and 7.2gt3 around 95K. 7.2gt3rs around 125K but only in blue. Unfortunaltely Tim has the only blue .2 rs in vancouver and I couldn't do that to him so I'm pretty much stuck on a white 997 gt3 or rs.

Kevin, are you the "coach"?

Are you getting rid of the 993 and the M5 and consolidating into your next car?

Living in Vancouver and with DD duty, the 7.1 GT3 option is by far the best. The 6GT3 is too harsh for Vancouver's bad roads and stop and go traffic. The GT2 is a waste. You can't even use it at Mission. You'll have to travel to Portland if you want to stretch it's legs properly. Aside from the fact that the LWF may get on your nerves after a while, you're going to be in a fishing bowl DDing an RS in Vancouver. That's a personal choice but I don't like the attention on a daily basis. NJ-GT knows what he's taking about and I fully agree that the .1GT3 is the best value for the money at around $75k. You will likely end up with comfort seats which are great for a primarily DD GT3 and probably the most low-key GT3.

Is the $10k rebate also applicable to the GT3/GT3RS? My local dealer has a couple of new RSes and I've never been more tempted to buy one ...
