Be prepared for enormou$$$$ repair bills if you buy a car that hasn't been maintained properly. I've seen a repair bill of $27,000 to replace the entire F1 transmission in a 430.
+1

Maybe wait and buy a 360 Stradale? The prices of these are also dropping fast and you can currently get a nice example for less than 125K.

I have driven the 360 in several option styles... Did not really like the padel setup... did not hate it either.

The 430 is a great looking car... But I would still pick up the 360. So, get one and enjoy it while you are looking for a 430!

I have owned both. I currently own a F430 I have owned it for 3 years. They are really fun to drive and look at it. If you can swing it financially buy a F430. More powerful better handling and no belts to change. be aware that if you are unlucky a major repair can be 20k. I personally would not buy a Ferrari unless the money didn't matter that much. My 360 was a 6spd and my f430 is an f1. I like both. Drive them and see what you like. It will be fun but not cheap.

Friend of mine owns a Ferrari dealership. I would get a new Ferrari every year or 2500 miles whichever came first. Worked out well for me and the dealership got to sell a used car and make a nice profit. Usually I would always get a coupe and convertible.

Have owned many ferrari's including 355 spider, 360 coupe, and 430 scud. The performance gets better with each new model. The 458 is off the chart!!! As far as looks go I like the 430 and I think the 360's are starting to look old.

I've had both. I think the 360 is better looking, and a 360 with a Tubi exhaust sounds unbelievable. That said, I think the 430 is the better car in terms of performance and reliability. If you like the looks/sound of the 360 better and won't be driving it much, I think that's a good route to take. If you're going to be putting a couple of thousand miles a year or more on the car, I'd go with a 430.

I don't know if I could ever go for any modern F cars. Not since I went for that ride in a 365 GTB/4.

Very good points in this thread

360? had one bad quality; service bills were a joke, didn't like suspension, brakes, transmission, handling and the car was slow. Really slow!
So unless you want to go down in flames with it stay clear.

People say the 430 is much better but I still wouldn’t buy one with the exemption of the Scuderia.
If you must and can’t afford the scuderia, wait and get a well maintained 6-speed 430 as the last manual modern Ferrari.. plus it looks way better than the italia.. : )

I'd get a 430. Reliability is way up over a 360 - no more belts. Pretty big bump in power too. With the economy and the 458 coming out, there are a ton available. I like the looks of both but probably prefer the 430.

Had a Nero 360 Stradale for a year before the GT3. Build quality was shocking as were the cost of parts.

A good friend had a 430 that i drove often and it's a far better car than the standard 360. That said, he owned it for a year and got rid for exactly the same reasons i got out of the Stradale - build quality.

The 430 he had suffered from windscreen issues, all fixings underneath had to be replaced due to corrosion, broken exhaust brackets etc etc etc

He now has a 997 GT3 RS Gen 2 and i have a Gen 1 RS - far far superior cars IMO
