Thanks, and when can I stop worrying?
To All
First, a sincere thanks to this group for assisting me in the selection process, both intellectual and emotional, of my first Porsche, a 997.2 GT3 RS. I began this process back in June of this year, and was burned by the first dealership as they took my order and deposit, and I finally learned in September they did not have an allocation, and had been trying to trade for one. I received my deposit back and placed an order with a deposit with a second dealer the first week in October. Porsche NA accepted the order, I asked for a copy of the pro forma invoice, received it, and then received a call from the dealer 2 weeks later saying they had been informed by Porsche NA that the factory had declined as the PTS color was rejected. On October 21st I immediately revised the order to my second color choice. I received the updated pro forma, and have been patiently waiting until this weekend when the dealer called and said my car was in planned production with a completion date at the factory of January 27th 2011. Can I sleep well tonight? I haven't had a good night's sleep since June.
PS - Thanks again! All the learned elements from dealer allocation, initial invoice, code change to production status, etc, etc, all learned from you guys. If not for this board, I would still be with a dealer that had no chance at an allocation, and waiting for my car that would never come.

Congrats, on behalf of all of us here, you're welcome. I'm sorry to tell you though that the worst is yet to come. The next month and a half will feel like an eternity! But then heaven!!

Congrats! Once you're confirmed for production (which sounds like you are) you're in good shape. Your dealer did you disservice when they didn't confirm your PTS request at the point of accepting your deposit. But other than that you're on the right track!
Just curious, what color did you request for PTS?

Joe, u know I had that yellow car (UK, RHD, <100mi on the odo) on deposit but lost out to some crazy bid (Nearly 10% over my ~£110k bid) and at those numbers I figured I might as well build a new car.
By the time I got around to the new build, the PTS waiting line was 4 months long and I settled with a catalog Grey/Red... Now it hurts to know I've missed out on what must be one of the very few Speed Yellows RS...
