Default Opinions on OZ Ultraleggera HLT CentLock Wheels

Hello all,

I'm looking for a set of extra wheels for my upcoming 2011 GT3. Any opinions on the OZ Ultraleggera HLT CentLock wheels from tirerack? I don't want to spend a lot of money and they seem reasonable. I will use them on the track. I had a set for my previous Cayman S (obviously not center lock) and they looked, felt, and performed great.

Thanks.

They look good... almost pulled the trigger on a set but went with GMG WCGT centerlocks instead because I convinced myself something forged was a must for the less than ideal roads in my city. I did have a set of OZ Ultraleggeras on one of my former Audis though, ran them daily, and they held up well to harsh roads and occasional potholes.

Have you considered going down a notch to 18" wheels? There are a handful of choices, plus, you get a much broader range of track tires (both DOTs and race slicks) to select from.

I just bought a set of Forged Alloys Tech1-110 in 18" myself.

You're gonna have an absolute blast with your new car! But, keep your ATM card handy at all times!

A friend runs 'em on his .1 RS (5 bolt) that sees frequent hard track use. They have held up very well, are lighter & less expensive than stock wheels, & look good too.

I like them, but they do remind a little to much of the factory wheels. Not that it is a bad thing, but when replacing my wheels I don't want something that looks to similar to what I just replaced.

The only thing I would caution on those wheels, do use tape to hold the wheel weights on, otherwise, because of the finish, they fall off rapidly during tracking.

I agree with you on that one! I experience that with my previous Cayman S and those wheels.

O.Z. deliver on the quality in their brand. This is a wheel we've seen on historic cars for decades. I've had 50K+ miles on OZ Racing wheels on performance cars with no trouble. Can't speak to local support, but tirerack is solid when there's a problem. I find OZ remarkably below market price for comparable imported wheels.
