Rs or not
#32
No problem It was a 3 day PCA event in the GT3 at NJMP (Lightning) in the White Group. Was set on doing more but after the event had made the decision to either sell or trade in for the RS so didn't want to take any more chances with the GT3. Just got the RS so will have to wait till next year. I've done about 20 car track days, Time trials and DE with my Evo (corner balanced, aligned, etc) over the past few years.(all east coast, Glen, LRock, Beaver Run, VIR and even did a trackday at Bridgehampton in my prelude 15 years ago before they turned it into a golf course . Well over 50 trackdays more recently on my bike.

OK, you don't have a lot of posts, but plenty of track days, bikes even, so you know hand and butt feel
I don't quite see how a GT3 would feel sharper then an RS. Easier to rotate maybe, less understeer maybe?

Tend to be leaning towards the more subtle appearance of the 3, but would I regret it 3 or 4 years from now when i take a track ride in an RS?

I used to find the RS was too much for the street as well. Then I saw it in it's natural habitat at the track, and it fit right in. Don't worry, it only seems outrageous to the "uninformed". Yes, it is a bit blingy, but you can rest assured that it is all functional

i am with leif on this one.
sounds like you are fairly new to rear engine p cars?
you can not have too much tires on 997 or 996gt3 of any variant.
i have had a 997.2gt3 for 6 weeks. no, it doesn't turn in better than RS.
in fact, the bigger tires up front with proper toe out, it would turn in very well.

I think it's just the bigger tires. I know they aren't that much bigger but in a GT3 where there is so much feedback I'm sure you'll be able to feel the difference. I did. Again this is just what I felt. I'm just saying. I'm sure the bigger tires will pay big dividends on the track when it comes to grip though. Can't wait to find out

almost sold my stripper yesterday. then my wrench warned me. he wont work on my cars anymore if i keep selling his artwork.

wait until NJGT gets here. he would tell you to run 305 up front. and he runs a private tire testing lab.
he and jrg convinced me that i shall stuff the widest rubber under these cars. i pulled and rolled fenders.

Was thinking more of feedback With bikes, the smaller tire setup will give you more feedback at the expense of stability. To avoid this we use steering dampers to add stability because we can't afford lose feedback and turn in response. . When you get the std GT3, seriously drive them back to back so you can prove me wrong

strange. i would run 275 up front on 7rs and i already run 265 up front on 6gt3.

That's what I will get when I run out of my Toyo 245/40/18 and 335/30/18 inventory somewhere in 2012..
RS for sale, you know this is a fast one when it is wrapped in Satin white!!
