Hard Wire Radar Detector?

Grides makes a wiring kit and a bracket that works with self dimming mirrors. It wires right into the fuse box pretty slick. They have a website.

I just did it in my RS. Hardwired the V1. I grounded in the light cluster. When you remove the whole cluster, you can easily ground on one of the bolts that hold it in. But for hot, I went down to the fuse box and used the open keyed slot that others on here have done. I first tried a wire associated with the light cluster, but it isn't keyed the same way. Very easy to do. Just run your hot wire along the front edge of the roof liner and push it in- there is a lot of space. Pull the inside of the A pillar partially off and fish it down to the fuse box. If you search for it here or on 6 speed or Teamspeed, someone has explicit directions that worked like a charm.

Afridi congrats on your new GT3, I remember you from the 6speed forum.
I don't recommend wiring to your self dimming mirrors if your car is equipped with them. In both my Carrera and GT3 I have a V1 and they are hard wired to
Row C, F6 (Rear Window Wiper) 15amp.
Obviously since we don't have a rear wiper this is the best choice. You don't want to blow a fuse drawing off the same fuse other equipment is run on with this hard wire job. IT's a switched fuse also so will go on and off with the ignition.
If you do a search on 6speed I did detailed install pics on a V1 thread. I can't find the pictures right now or I'd post here.
